Game 5 - Hornets @ Miami

So are we even in the playoffs, let alone one game up against Miami without the acquisitions of guys like Lin, Lee, Marvin, and Batum?

I'm just curious, because the prevailing thought here is we should shitcan Rich Cho immediately.

But um, without the above guys, Walker would just be chucking up bricks. I like Kemba, but he has consistently had atrocious FG% throughout the playoffs.

We would have been much better much longer ago if he could draft worth a damn. Any decent GM can sign free agents and make trades

So is Jordan responsible for this, or Cho?

Depending on the week, we hear about how Jordan is the worst owner ever, or Cho is the worst GM ever.

Trying to figure out which one it is this week. Or have they both been given a reprieve of sorts?

Both Jordan and Cho are responsible for this. Jordan has quietly become a good owner, and fans have always been too quick to judge Cho. He's done well since he's been here. People don't realize how hard it is to hit in the NBA draft.

Both have quietly been building a decent Charlotte squad that should contend in the east for some years

He is at his best when he drives to the basket like in Game 4. He settled for jumpers tonight because the Heat keyed on stopping those drives, but it unleashed our dormant 3 point attack.

At the end of the day, even if he isn't shooting well, he's great at pace and limiting turnovers, and you still have to respect his range as he showed tonight.

Wasnt pretty again, but give me that W.

Point taken, and yes I am thrilled with the W.

Look, this isn't some ignorant Carolina Chuck type drivel. I legitimately am a Kemba guy, I want him here.

But if he could shoot more consistently, maybe we would have won one of those first two games in Miami.

Wade is 34 years old, played 32 minutes, and he took 23 shots, and was responsible for 22 points.

Walker is 25 years old, played 35 minutes, he also took 23 shots, but only managed 11 points.

Kemba needs to improve his shooting consistency, and that is putting it kindly.

You're right. And he has. But it was a credit to Spo and their defense that he and the offense were so limited again. Lin had the same issues on the second unit.

Some of those shots were late in the clock when there was no ball movement at all, which I would attribute to the insertion of Batum and those chemistry kinks with the rotations we were all worried about.

A healthier, more in rhythm Batum should really change things, as well as the realization that we can finally get back to playing Hornets basketball, and we are at home.

Also it's unfair to compare him to a first ballot HOFer. Man, that guy turned back the clock and nearly won it for them.

We just can't pull a 2001 Hornets-Milwaukee.

Very similar situation were we won games 3,4,5 and had game 6 at home to close it out but couldn't. Was at game 6, pretty demoralizing.

I was there too, that series was ours for the taking, we gave away game 6 at the end, blown out in game 7 on the road.  Our team that year was awesome, with all the dunks from Davis and Eddie Robinson.
