Jaylon Smith?

Having nerves that haven't regenerated and there is no way to know if they ever will...it would be a risk to take him IMO.

From USA Today 4/25/2016

"Smith’s peroneal nerve remains asleep, leaving him unable to lift his left foot or swing it out to the side. It’ll be months before doctors have a better idea whether and to what degree the nerve will wake up. That leaves perhaps the best player in this week’s NFL draft unlikely to go in Round 1, unlikely to play at all in 2016, and 32 team doctors to advise 32 general managers with varying needs and risk tolerance on the odds of Smith making a full recovery."

He was told that he will be drafted by the end of the third apparently. I could easily see it being us. We don't need him to play for at least one season, possibly two.

Let him work with Dr. Anderson, send him overseas to have nerve treatment, whatever. He's easily the best player in this draft. Draft him. Let him learn. Let him recover. And unleash an LB corps of Smith, Keek, and Shaq on the NFL.

When teams think that they are so close to a SB/consistent winner like the Pats, they start taking more risks, thinking that it's just a 3rd round pick.  See 49ers with Lattimore and Carradine.....not looking like good investments now that you have a few players retire, the QB regresses, and a coach moves on.

Hate if for the kid, but it would have to be lower than a 3rd for me to touch him...probably closer to a 6.
