Andy Dalton?

I think he is referring to the other first round QBs that year. Christian Ponder, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert as top 15 picks? And were talked about being potential top 10 if I remember correctly. Hindsight is 20/20 but the lol's I get from thinking about the terrible first round decisions other teams have made since we took Cam #1 overall are priceless.

the overhype these QB get are hilarious!

desprate teams giving up so much to get them, and they arent even that good.. they are just the best of a very poor class..

its like paying $30 for a box of ramen, because there is nothing else for miles and thats all thats left in there store.. and desperate hungry people need that ramen..

its hilarious.. both teams that traded up gave so much.. and the mother fugers aint that good.  they all seem like a blaine gabbert to me

Pie for the Ramen analogy!

I actually think this year's QB class might be like 2011's; i.e. one great QB followed by a lot of suck.

(and frankly, I'm not all that sold on the one great QB being there)

I'm going with 2007. They all suck.

This may sound crazy but this could be one of those classes where the most successful are ones at random spots in the draft.  I think it's Dak and Hogan this year.  I don't know what it is but those two just seem like they will translate well...but then again I did think Ricky Stanzi was going to be something in the NFL lol.

I could see that.

I feel like there's a lot of posturing going on by the Saints here. If they can convince teams they may actually take a QB in the first, teams will be more inclined to move up to get Lynch.

I'm not ruling out the possibility of a first round QB, even though I feel like it would be ridiculous a year after taking a QB in the 3rd.

Saints are reported to be enamored with Mo Wilkerson. I could see this as posturing to get the Jets to swap picks and send Wilkerson this way.

Carolina picked a QB in the 2nd round (48th overall pick) in 2010, then turned around and picked their current starter, Pro Bowler, All-Pro, and reigning league MVP with the 1st overall choice in 2011.

When it comes to QBs, if you think you can grab a starter and you need a starter either now or in the near-term, you do it.  The position is just too damn important to pass those opportunities up.

If its posturing, its posturing.  But if the team truly DOES believe that a guy like Lynch could keep the team solid at the QB position after Brees retires or is retired and they don't pick him?  That would be insanity.

I agree. What would be disappointing to me would be giving up on Grayson after a year of riding the pine. If they saw all they needed to see after a year of practice, it would really be disheartening. What did you miss in the scouting process that you see now?

But overall, I agree.

    • Happy Thanksgiving y’all. Thankful for a very good team and for this group to talk canes.  Eat drink celebrate our win bs the rags. This team is cup ready.
    • I don't think should be seen as an insult, legitimately. Teddy's floor was consistently a good game manager to his ceiling of border-line top 10 QB who's arm strength didn't blow you away but could make all the throws and generally made good decisions and had some sneaky athleticism.  Teddy started on quite a few teams. He had a good start to his career, had a horrific injury that could have ended his career, came back and played himself into being a starter, got a contract here (and subsequently became another victim of Tepper's impetuousness), and then started games for a few other teams. Teddy could have been a franchise QB had he not suffered a freak injury, and then he just never ended up in another stable situation. He still had a good NFL career that could have been great without that injury. Teddy before that injury did look like a franchise QB, and I dont think that's a bad comp for Young nor an insult in terms of what his career could be based on that comparison.
    • Absolutely the wrong take. We have to run and gun. We have zero post presence. We just have to make shots. We just can't hit water from a boat tonight and we're turning it over to boot. Then you have a poor shooting opponent shooting lights out.  Looks like a long season ahead of us though if Hubert doesn't adapt to this roster. We have to play a pressure trapping D and get out in transition because we aren't beating anyone in the half court.
