Karl Joseph lays the wood CRAZY but he might be a little too small to do that in the NFL.. he already has been injured once..

Keanu and Cash have bigger frames but I like all 3 of them..

But that was in a non contact practice.  He is tough.

A lot of prospects. Think Gettleman will trade out of the first round and pick up a safety in the 2nd round.  Would love Joseph. But not getting my hopes up.

SS is the glaring hole on defense?  I disagree.  I think it's a second outside CB.  Boykin is a nickelback.  I feel a lot better about a safety pairing of Coleman and Boston than I do about any current CB we have to put opposite Bene.  Not saying we couldn't upgrade the SS position, but to me outside CB is the far bigger hole currently.

yup

As much as we need a SS.  I know many said even in the middle of last season  that Coleman was a better SS than FS.  I'm starting to like that Von Bell kid from Ohio state a lot

Having the tweener types like Boston and Coleman is great but it would be nice to have a long term SS that can play in the box stellar against the run with strong coverage skills.  Coleman can be a liability in that regard.  He's a heck of a ballhawk but definitely shows inconsistencies at times in run support which is why I think he's better suited in deep coverage as our center fielder.  He should stay back there and keep picking guys off left and right.

I like both guys but would question the combo on the field at the same time against power run/AC teams.  Boston did play outside corner, nickel, SS and FS in college so his versatility is huge.

I just think getting a guy that has strong closing speed against the run+reads QBs well is huge for the SS spot which is why I think this is still the glaring need.   With the tackling angles Boston and Coleman sometimes make, an RB getting to the second level with them paired out there wouldn't be ideal.

I've been drinking the same Kool-Aid.  I watched highlight reels on all these guys and I like a lot of things from each.  Joseph has great tackling form, Killebrew is a big athletic tackling machine, Cash great in run support.  I think all would fit the defense well with zone coverage and run first instincts.  But I am all aboard the Keanu Neal train.  I wouldn't be mad if we took these dude with any pick 1st - 7th.  Watch this cats reel.   Dude has amazing closing speed.  6'0 211lbs ran in the 4.5s 38" vert. 225 17 times.  Draft Projection : 2nd and NFL Comparison was Kenny Vaccaro per NFL.com.

"He looks like an NFL safety. Looks like he can run on tape and is exactly what you look for in run support. He's an athlete so I don't worry about his cover skills as long as his instincts are okay." -- NFC defensive backs coach per NFL.com

If his biggest flaw is hitting to hard or going for the knockout blow that can easily be fixed through good coaching.  Also, a side note... Keanu Neal completed every event at the Combine, for me personally that says hes trying to have the best performance and the best "interview" for a new job.  Didn't hold anything back.

I post a few weeks in the draft forum and stated keaun Neal will be the pick.

I don't agree, cause I don't put high value on safety spot(unless Ed Reed). Regardless I don't make the call, the panthers as group do. What they want in a draft pick (currently on and off-field), keanu Neal has the most of "it". If you had a checklist with 20 boxes, Neal would have 19 green check marks.

If he's on board, hes the pick.

I'd love Cravens in the 2nd or Jeremy Cash in the 3rd (maybe 2nd, he seems to be rising). I think both would fill the SS position, opposite of Coleman, very nicely.

My preferred draft under normal circumstances would be: 1. Emmanuel Ogbah 2. Su'a Cravens 3. Devontae Booker

In 2015, he has 5 INTs, 4 passes deflected, 2 forced fumbles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and a sack.

I've never watched this guy play before, but based off those highlights, he seems to have very good instincts.  What round is he slotted to go?

He's been mentioned around round 2-3 for a bit. He's the type depending on the scheme, one team could view him high 2nd, others maybe more mid rounds.  He's arguably the best coverage safety in the class but has SS instincts, speed, and size.  Just a very interesting combo that reminds me of Jaquiski Tartt from last year who had a quietly stellar rookie season in SF.

You'll all be thinking Joseph after watching this. He is a beast.

Oh. Yea, you're right. Guy was laying the wood on guys that out weighed him by 30 pounds.

I'm still of the mindset that we should trade up for a high second round pick and make Bullard one of the first two picks. If we added Joseph and Bullard to the front 7 that we already have, we seriously might set a record for the fewest rushing yard allowed ever.

Since we don't really draft safeties high, do high-pick safeties normally start right away? Seems like a there would a lot of chances to eff up as a green rookie.
