Secondary talk? Since we've only drafted one in Gettleman's reign this seems like a great topic.

We've met with/visited/worked out almost 20 DBs leading up to this draft.  It's pretty obvious that upgrading the secondary is definitely a possibility.

Call me crazy but I don't think that Cravens is going to be a very good safety. He seems to play better the closer to the line of scrimmage he is. He is so similar to Shaq it's scary, but I actually think that Shaqs athletic ability as a running back helps him flip his hips in coverage better, which is why we have him match up on tight ends and such. I think Cravens would be better served as a blitzing linebacker, or a box safety in the mold of Roman Harper. But either way I see him struggling in coverage.

Way too many talented safeties in this draft it seems not to take one. 2nd-4th round, I'd fully expect to see us grab one.

I've liked Cash since he was playing at Duke, but Neal and others work just fine with me as long as we come away with one. Not sold on Boston full time, and Coleman is in a contract year. HAVE to think Gettleman considers one as high as the 2nd.

You can say that. At least I can multi quote. Run along child.

If you're gonna continue your weird non-contribution posting, at least get your diss on a thread accurate (which already was a fail even if you got it right).  A continuous sheila in our midst.

I'll take Keanu please. I like Joseph and Cash, but Neal is the player I want of all the SAF class.

I've been drinking the same Kool-Aid.  I watched highlight reels on all these guys and I like a lot of things from each.  Joseph has great tackling form, Killebrew is a big athletic tackling machine, Cash great in run support.  I think all would fit the defense well with zone coverage and run first instincts.  But I am all aboard the Keanu Neal train.  I wouldn't be mad if we took these dude with any pick 1st - 7th.  Watch this cats reel.   Dude has amazing closing speed.  6'0 211lbs ran in the 4.5s 38" vert. 225 17 times.  Draft Projection : 2nd and NFL Comparison was Kenny Vaccaro per NFL.com.

"He looks like an NFL safety. Looks like he can run on tape and is exactly what you look for in run support. He's an athlete so I don't worry about his cover skills as long as his instincts are okay." -- NFC defensive backs coach per NFL.com

If his biggest flaw is hitting to hard or going for the knockout blow that can easily be fixed through good coaching.  Also, a side note... Keanu Neal completed every event at the Combine, for me personally that says hes trying to have the best performance and the best "interview" for a new job.  Didn't hold anything back.

Yeah Keanu Neal is hard to ignore.  I do wonder where he lies on DGs big board---been quite surprised by the lack of hype around him and no "reported" interest.

edit--Just to note: Outside of Neal, I think Darian Thompson is the most balanced safety that can contribute against the run and in coverage.  Having that dynamic going into the league is huge and imagine he's way higher on teams' board than has been led on.  Much like Jaquiski Tartt last year.  Great size at 6-2 215, strong speed & quickness all-around, & aggressive.
