It has happened! Gettleman has tamed the Huddle beast!

Gettleman was in charge of pro personnel for the Giants, not college scouting.

Pro Personnel Director typically oversees all scouting and recruiting, in addition to other things.  He didn't make the actual draft picks for the Giants but he (his group) compiled / presented all the data / recommendations to the GM and coaches.  That position typically works with draft consultants too.  He brought the same consultants to Carolina that he used in NY.

I've been on and off this board for about ten years now. Believe me, the Huddle is going to Huddle, no matter what happens. I vaguely remember all the griping back around 2005 or so when the running joke for every draft prospect was "Can they play safety?"

I can say these days, I don't read too much into prospects for two reasons. One, I don't get to make the final call anyways, so I'd rather read about a player once we draft them to understand the underlying logic. The other reason is that for all the info out there, there is always key data that doesn't come out until after the draft. In many cases, it's red flags that certain teams detect such as bad influences or questionable behavior that would take a player off their board.

Will I approve of every selection we make? Unlikely but I can say I'm more comfortable being a Panthers fan coming into tomorrow than, say, an Eagles fan or Browns fan.
