Wilson: Cravens under first-round consideration

Seems relevant given we've been linked to him a bit.

"Versatile USC outside linebacker-safety Su’a Cravens is under consideration as a potential first-round draft pick.

Cravens visited and worked out for the Atlanta Falcons. He also visited the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions.

Cravens displayed his athleticism at his campus Pro Day workout, running the 40-yard dash in 4.54.

He excelled in linebacker and defensive back drills and caught the football well.

The New England Patriots, Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers have all displayed interest in Cravens."

Lions in R2 seems like a likely spot for him. Their GM recently spoke highly of having the hybrid safety types playing LB.

Yep.  Seemed like about a week or so out last year a lot of arrows started pointing toward Shaq being our guy after some whispers all along.  Might be happening again.  If we're gonna do it, I hope we view Cravens as a SS.

Saw that in the PFT article earlier. Would prefer him to Cravens but I'm biased.

Never seen us linked with him at all and he's been linked with a ton of teams. I don't know that he's in play for us but I do like him.

Gettleman likes guys with ideal to plus size for their respective position.  Not saying Joseph isn't a really good player, he just doesn't seem like a Gettleman guy.

Yeah I don't even know if he would take VH3 if he fell and was available at 30. I mean I think he would but I'm really not sure because he seems to value size so much that he may not even be on our board.

Yeah, Gettleman seems to look at smaller slot WRs, but that's about the only small guys he looks at.  Evidently we really liked Brandin Cooks coming out and we're looking at Sterling Shepard too.

I'd MUUUUUUCH rather have Joseph, someone who has excelled at his prospective position, than Cravens.  I'd be ok with Cravens in the 2nd, but wouldn't be excited about the pick.
