Wow: Norman tried firing his agent and signing the tender, but Gettleman had already rescinded

cam and luke were on the team in 2012 when we went 7-9.  as was hardy, charles johnson, steve smith, thomas davis, williams/stewart, tolbert, olsen, gross, kalil, and on and on.  that team was also being coached by ron rivera.

of course most reasonable people would look at that and go "well duh, but the surrounding cast was pitiful and there's only so much a handful of star players can do"

of course that has certain ramifications if you're putting it out there that our team's success is predicated on like three people right now.  and if you consider who actually builds the rosters.

Cpt Slay a Ho was livid about losing Godfrey....even after he sucked ass in ATL....totally talked Godfrey up like he was his cousin...I mean like he was worth a poo.

TF? now you're talking out your ass.........i was not thrilled with putting a guy coming off a achilles injury at corner after he hadn't played the position since college, GTFO and try again. especially when soft ass decoud was at safety

Pretty big load of horse poo, but if you think you can haul it, by all means...

Pretty interesting how our team sucked ass, even with Luke/Cam/Ron, until we got a new GM, don't you think?

In 2011 Cam was a rookie, wtf did you expect? We were the worst team in the league the previous season.

In 2012 Luke was a rookie, Cam was in his second season we won one more game in a stacked NFC south.

Everyone knows Hurney sucks yet people use him as a barometer for Getteleman success.

Cam was a badass his rookie year.  Maybe you forgot the whole ORotY/pro bowl thing?  Kuechly was also a badass his rookie year.  DRotY/pro bowl, remember that?

3 fuging guys aren't the reason for 70% of the team's success.  That's the point.

Edit:  I'm not saying it's all Gettleman either, if you haven't been following along...

The players are extremely important to win football games.  Duh.

But who puts the players on the feild?

If you look at the consistant "model franchises" in the nfl they all have 1 thing in common and its people in the FO that have their poo together.

Why is it that teams that have sucked for ten years and get high draft picks every season still suck?

Meh you can argue Cam is the reason for at least 50 to 60% of this team success, last season especially. This is a QB league at the end of day.

People on here like to harp on other teams for going out and over spending in free agency but a lot of those teams don't have franchise QBs. Put Cam on the Dolphins they win the AFC east, Tannehill in Carolina we don't make the playoffs.

The most recent reports have it at 10M per.

Regardless, Jeremy even spoke with him at varous points theoughout the season, and even he will tell you he didn't think it was about the money for Josh.

He just took it because once we rescinded our offer, why would he give anyone else a discount?

LOL.

It's really sad that Josh didn't want to remain with the Panthers. It was his choice, no one else's.

Cam is huge for this team.  So is Kuechly.  I'm not trying to take away from their value.  They're not responsible for that big of a share in the team's success though.  It's cliche, but true, that there are just too many moving parts.  Too many other factors.

I can agree with that.  Franchise QB is extremely important.  It's why they make the mistake of spending so much in FA.  They're trying to compensate.  It never works.

You know the truth but you cant admit it no matter how good a GM is the game always comes down to player performing and coaches game plan. There is a system and GM a is critical part but he is not the most crucial peace. One good example is  that a Coach can be a GM but there never has been a GM who has been the coach of the team AKA Bill Belichick.

Players > Coaches > GM.

I'll ask you again: Who chooses the players?

If you think a GM isn't a big deal, then why didn't we have this kind of success under Hurney?

Haha I love your argument , yea it's called the development phase and ironically Dave came right around the time players tends to show . What does Dave Gettleman says " it takes about 3-4 year to develop a player coming in as a rookie"  Just like it took Seattle cpl of years to develop before they won the SB. Dude Gettleman must love  you for sucking his balls dry. Get the fug out of here

I never discredited  that GM isn't a big part. It's just that players and coaches play a bigger role  than a GM . That's why you have a coach as a GM rather than vice versa. Just stop it

One more time: Who picks the players that make the plays?

Quick hint: They don't draft or sign themselves.
