Wow: Norman tried firing his agent and signing the tender, but Gettleman had already rescinded

On the surface I agree and was thinking the same, but if Gettleman didn't want to go the one year rental route, he pretty much had to pull the tag especially if Josh was offering to sign it.  Once signed, it's a done deal and if the sides were truly that far apart then it was gonna be a one year rental.

In reality, all of this arguing is probably over nothing.  Based on Norman's comments he probably had no idea how bad negotiations had gotten and probably didn't have any indication until the tag was pulled.  Idiot agent screwed his client over and didn't listen to his client's wishes, but at the end of the day he still came out a pretty big winner.  He still gets 50% commission on that monster Redskins deal.  Sucks that a guy can completely botch his job and still get PAID big time.  Is be willing to bet that he had zero input on that Redskins deal.

He was demoted, a new agent worked out the Redskins deal.

Yeah but the problem was that Gettleman couldn't play any sort of ball with Norman, he was playing ball with an agent who had no idea what he was doing and wasn't even telling Norman what was going on. Gettleman had no reason to think Norman's agent wasn't representing what his client wanted. From Gettleman's perspective, he had a player who refused to sign the tender and had demanded a trade.

And like DWill, this info will come out in a way that would make Panther management at fault.

We'll have to see how Josh handles it, but so far he's handling it a lot better than DeAngelo.  Seems like Josh realizes that his agent fuged up and that's on him as much as anyone.  That tone may change over time, but we'll see.

DeAngelo was all kinds of salty and bitter from the get go.  No clue how it why.  He shouldn't have expected to get paid like a top RB when he obviously wasn't, but evidently he did.

How anybody can sit there and blame Gettleman for this, when obviously Norman's agent wasn't doing his job, and certainly wasn't communicating with Josh.

Josh can ultimately only blame himself, as he is the one that hired his agent.

It's unfortunate how things went, but I don't blame Gettleman for handling business.

And the important life lesson here is...

You can only eff around for a little while before the guy writing the check puts away his pen. Hate to see him go, but he got that deal put together with Washington mighty fast.

Enjoy DC, we'll see ya around.
