I've been nuch faster than the 110 i posted, but I wasn't trying to brag.

I did want to ask you a question.

Why would I have to be putting other lives at risk just cause I'm driving fast?

Not to start a debate about what is wrong, or what is right, but one can drive fast without endangering others.

If course, most people in and around Houstin have no concept of that. Lol

I commute to work at 60mph in a 65. I love my 40 + mpg.

P.S. Put the damn phone down!! Lol

Uhhhh.....is this a real question or a sarcastic question?

It's the same as the phone thing....it's puts other people's lives at risk. I feel sort of dumb if you were being sarcastic.

You're driving a two ton vehicle. Past a certain speed, it becomes a damn weapon. I don't know about you people, but I was taught to drive responsibly and to respect the privilege that driving is. When I handle weapons, I don't toss them around all nonchalantly like it doesn't fuging matter where I point it, how close my finger is to the trigger, or fail to check to see if the damn thing is loaded. Driving like a jackass, to me personally, is the equivalent of a dumbass whipping a gun out, pointing it at someone and dry firing it laughing. Congratulations, it wasn't loaded... This time. But it's playing with fire and one day you very well could pull that trigger and someone could get hurt or even killed. Driving at high speeds puts you and others in danger. It allows a much smaller margin of error in any situation that you might react to. Even if you think you're the bees knees at driving at high speeds, odds are there's some oblivious person on the road that has no idea you're flying at them. That's a combo of two people being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I was just in the mountains on a hiking trip last weekend and my friend was trying to speed down the damn winding mountain roads. I heard the tires squealing, the posted speed was like 35, and he was trying to push it to 50 with cliffs and poo to the side of us. I straight up told him to cut that poo out. He might not value his life but I have a newborn daughter that I'd like to see when the trip was over. It was unnecessary and reckless and it was just incredibly selfish and short sighted. Pissed me right the poo off.

Having said all that, I get it to an extent. There is a culture around driving that promotes and even encourages higher speeds and higher horsepower. I can forgive someone young for getting caught up in the moment and the rush of driving fast, but when the number of speeding tickets you've gotten becomes a badge of honor, I personally look down on you as a person who doesn't make very many good decisions, doesn't care about the safety of others, and is pretty damn stupid with money because that's a lot of money in fines.

So I don't think this is the end of the world for CAP. I can forgive one transgression of stupid driving because poo happens. I would hope it doesn't become a common thing though.

Sorry to rant, but I think recent situations that I've been witness too have gotten me all hot and bothered about this particular situation. I'll return to shitposting and defending Dave's roster moves again.

When I was a teenager I had a 3000gt and got it up to 110mph once. The car felt like it was literally going to lift up into the air and take flight. Never went that high again. CAP is going to learn that we have a strict owner and a cold as ice GM with a low tolerance for bullshit. He's going to get the poo scared out of him by a Gettleman/RR "do that again and you're gone" type speech.

Awesome.. I still have my 3000gt.. don't drive it much.. but I went about 120 in it.. with lights off on 40. Not my smartest moment.

Heh, my best was 140 in a '95 Honda Prelude VTEC when I was in c-school, heading back to Texas after a weekend in NO.  Was late at night, no other cars on the road. Luckily I had a radar detector, warned me of a cop on the side of the road. I was down to 77 (in a 70) by the time he got the gun on me.  And Texas has (or had) a wonderful law that let military out of their first speeding ticket there, so nothing came of it. It was fun, being a stupid kid.

C-School? Navy? Which Rate?

Well with the cars these guys have you cant blame them opening it up a little bit. I once went from carowinds on 77 to 26 in 35 min cruising at 175 -140 the whole way. Now I know how stupid it was. Back on topic I guess we draft Derrick Henry now for sure lol

    • I largely detached from the NBA altogether the last few months. I had no idea the Pistons somehow stumbled into the playoffs. Seems like even the poverty franchises are a few tiers above us. Unreal.
    • I think it's a possibility of them moving to #3 with the Giants for Carter because.. The Giants can't take Sanders at 3, it's too high (and too much pressure). Get a 3rd and 4th round and maybe a next year 2nd (not too steep) and they save face and get their man and we get ours. If the price is too much, Morgan won't do it.  It's the same for us. We wouldn't mind moving back a couple of spaces but teams won't give up too much. If our top 3 picks are gone at 8, people might not give us a ton to move, but we may get something and still get a good player at 12-15 or so.  I don't think teams will over pay to move up this year, so the next best thing is get what you can and still get a decent pick.
    • We can't right this ship in a single offseason anyway. Dan Morgan needs to focus on the basics. If he gets hung up on trying to get value out of this pick or that pick and trying to acquire extra assets like Scott Fitterer used to always thinking he was the smartest guy in the building then Dan is in all likelihood in for another rude awakening. And as usual the fanbase will be the ones picking up the pieces.
