I have a feeling about Ogbah after the Observer's article

I do think it's interesting that Dodd is the one believed to have greater upside, presumably because he's only had one good year. I'm not sure but I think teams may prioritize that differently. Plus Dodd is more than a year older than all of Bosa, Buckner, Lawson, Ogbah, and Spence.

Watching some highlights, if we draft him, the coaches are really going to have to work with him to lower his target zone when hitting the QB.  A lot of his hits would have flags flying like crazy in today's NFL for contact to the head of the QB.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I can't say any of them were technically head shots, as it looked like he was grabbing the chest and shoulders, but I believe that it would be prudent to not even leave the question.

Yeah, I don't think they were dirty or malicious hits, he's just coming in too high.  It wasn't like he was taking deliberate head shots, but he's coming in and hitting to the shoulder or high in the chest and that's leading to his arms/hands getting up in the head area.  Plus, if the QB ducks, there's going to be no way for him to avoid delivering a blow to the head.  Not to mention QBs like Big Ben, etc. likely shaking off a hit like that which doesn't wrap up the legs.  Gotta lower that target.

I agree. Of all the guys projected to be there at 30, Ogbah looks best.

We should, however, temper expectations. People expecting him to come in and be a star as a rookie are probably in for a rude awakening. Even JJ Watt as a rookie only had 5 sacks. Ogbah is not going to improve our pass rush to such an extent that Bene starts playing like Josh Norman. That's just crazy. Ogbah - like anyone else we would take at 30 - is a long-term pick, not a short-term fix.

I'd be absolutely okay with this pick. He's the one name that consistently jumps out at me in the 30s. I'd obviously love if a huge talent fell because of QBs, but I seriously doubt that happens.

There are no huge, generational talents in this draft IMO.  We're all excited it's finally here, but overall it's a weak draft at the top.

I mean, I'd love for Elliot to drop down since he's an RB, but it'll never happen. I think he's the one player in this draft that will change a team instantly.

I listened to Greg Cosell's Apr 22 podcast segment on WFNZ tonight, on J-No and Panthers' draft prospects.

He doesn't like Ogbah much...

He also doesn't really like Derrick Henry either.

Two players he mentioned he likes as possible Panthers picks (he didn't specify round)

CB Xavien Howard

OT Germain Ifedi

I remember a few people saying that about Kony Ealy.

The good thing about Ogbah, is that he will have time to learn and develop.  Of course CJ and Ealy are the presumed starters, but Delaire and Miley have a certain amount of upside yet to be determined. If G-man picks Ogbah, I don't see how anyone can argue with it, first round or not.

ealy was much better in college bro , ogbah looks like a 3rd rounder at best . he has pass rushing talent dont get me wrong but he has no clue when it comes to the run
