1 year of elite play, Josh getting up in age. Now if Josh played at the same level on the franchise tag, then he would have 2 years elite play. Im sure Gman wouldnt of lowballed him then, Josh was just greedy and punched his ticket out of town.

lol "greedy"

I'd be a greedy mofo too if someone was going to offer me $75m, or $31m more then the panthers, I might be going somewhere that I won't have a shot at a super bowl this season, but I could dry those tears of sadness with a hell of a lot of money. I don't blame josh one bit, as GM looking out for the panthers though I'd tell him sign or play with a tag your choice.

Not really, he had one year of good play and cost the team with his personality. Remember when people said Hardy was going to be great in Dallas?  Yup that didn't happen and Carolina will keep making players look all pro.  Hell we don't even know if josh can play the slot.

That's one example. Tell me, how did DeAngelo Williams and Steve Smith do after leaving?

I'd choose 10M per and a shot a multiple rings, vs 15M and a shot at 6 wins.

see Michael Jordan. he was paid extremely team friendly salaries until the end of his career, because he wanted rings.

Why do people keep making the Redskins out to be the Browns? They went 9-7 last year and won their division, better than we were in 2014 before we went 17-2. And Jordan was maxing out at $33 million per season back in the mid '90s, which I believe is STILL the most money in NBA history and was the biggest in pro sports history at the time.

Gettleman is no joke. I got to meet him on the field before the game up here when the Panthers were in town. He chatted with my folks and me for about five minutes. He's brash, confident, no nonsense, but also very real. Josh had no idea who he was messing around with.

Yeah, because you chatted with Gettleman for 5 minutes, I'm sure you know him way better than Josh Norman does.

Lol Dwills team didn't even want him as there starter and Smith is well Smith. Still let's talk about Ted Ginn and Mike Mitchell.

DeAngelo played at an All-Pro level last year and Smith was an MVP candidate through much of 2014. Point is that Panthers players can and have left us and succeeded elsewhere, it's not just the magical "system".

They didn't go to the Super Bowl.

We, however, did. And did so without them.

And don't give me a dumbass answer like "Well, we would have won with them". Their releases were as much a part of why we went as anything.

I swear, every time we lose a player all the resident idiots come out to b--ch, moan and scream doom and gloom. Yet if we're successful (again) you'll all be nowhere to be seen.

Yeesh.

Show me one person that said Star was more important to our success in 2015 than Josh Norman was before this week. The Internet is a big place, show me one person on this site or any other.

Maybe they meant KK Short.  Hell, many argued  he was our Def MVP over Luke/Josh last year.

If you can not stop the run you can not stop the pass. If you can not stop the run DB have to come in on run support and lead to more play action. Star was the anchor on that d- line and one of the main reason we had a top five run defense. I would rather have Star.

Forget what the "market" says. The "market" is made up of incompetent GMs and GMs who're direct by owners to make splashes to appease the fans. When you have organizations like that involved in the market you're going to overpay. Sure, DG said he's not in the business of developing players for other teams, but he's also not in the business of overpaying players when he's confident in his plan and the team's ability to develop another younger, cheaper option. Good for Josh for getting money he deserved. Is he worth that? Sure, to the team in DC he is. Just not worth that much to our team. That doesn't make either side wrong.  DG made an offer that was in line with his strategy and stuck to it. You can't fault him for that. I'm sure when the offer was delivered that it was accompanied by an explanation as to why the number was what is was.

as long as dan Snyder is the owner/GM, the redskins are the Browns. They aren't a legit contender, and likely won't be during the time Josh is there. They aren't better than we were. They are a disorganized mess at the top. They have bad team management, which hurts the product they can put on the field.

Jordan made $33M his last season, and a combined $30M over the previous 13 seasons. He intentionally signed team friendly contracts to allow for more money to be spent on his team, because he wanted to win championships.

Lol Jordan made like billions off of endorsements and Jordans. That's a horrible example. Josh isn't going to get that. The argument that he should've taken some lowball offer because of that is stupidity incarnate.
