Hmm...why isn't a single Panther, not even in the secondary, mad at Josh?

Let's all keep questioning our GM that came in and changed the culture in the organization and put us on the path to 3 consecutive NFCS Championships. Smdh. He may have made a mistake, but I don't think so. He along with Rivera will plug guys in and we will be fine. He's done it every year since he's been here and I'm confident he will do it again. No way should he have paid any CB 15 million a year.

All that sounds good till you realize those core players contracts don't come up till next year. So why not have Norman for 1 more year.

Norman was the only important/core player who's contract came up this year.

Expect Short to get a new deal within few months...  Probably around $12M a year. Norwell will get about $8M...  That will leave us with $15M...  Sign draft picks and we have about $8M left. Funny how easy it is to spend money.

They're universally supporting him on social media and congratulating him on getting paid. But Huddlers have been telling me that Josh betrayed them by wanting money instead of a chance at a ring. Surely you people aren't wrong right? If Josh was really betraying the team by wanting to get paid, they would be mad or at least wouldn't be publicly backing him on social media like Tre Boston and Charles Tillman and Bene Benwikere and Mike Tolbert and Ryan Kalil and Kawann Short (that I know of so far) have done in the past hour.

So all the Huddlers saying Josh put money and greed ahead of the team...I haven't heard one person that actually plays on that team echo that. Just the opposite. Interesting, what's up with that?

It takes a special thread to get over 2000 views and no pie.

Show me one professional athlete that ever called out another guy for getting paid. Great thread.

Not.

They could have kept silent then. Nope, they're bending over backwards to congratulate him. Once again, this proves that Josh was not being "greedy" or "betraying" anyone. That's only something stupid fans believe. Actual players with skin in the game don't think that at all.

I agree with you, just not with that example. Fans are the ones who get butt hurt while players know it's a business. You would have to be a hypocrite jackass to be a player and call out another guy for getting what he's worth. The longer he went without signing the tender, the less confident I was about seeing a happy ending.

Kind of like they bent backwards to congratulate Hardy on his deal with Dallas?

Think about working with a guy, he's a hard worker but gets paid the same or less than you, then he tells you he put in a 2 week notice to go to a new job where he will be paid more but the job security might not be as high.  It sucks for you because where you work lost a good worker and other people will have to pick up the slack, but ultimately you are happy for the guy because he is doing what's best for him and his family.  That's why no one is pissed about him leaving, not anyone on the team or anyone in the front office.  It was purely a business decision.

my point was tho that they while grossly underpaid(Norwell $600k, short $1.2m), those players are still under contract for the 2016-2017 season. just saying we totally could have forced Norman's hand with little repercussions, would have sucked for Norman but I dont feel bad for millionaires that make more money in a single year then I will see in my lifetime

Because that $14M would be wasted on just one year. Now we can use it to benefit us for more than 1 year and more than 1 player.
