Hmm...why isn't a single Panther, not even in the secondary, mad at Josh?

They're universally supporting him on social media and congratulating him on getting paid. But Huddlers have been telling me that Josh betrayed them by wanting money instead of a chance at a ring. Surely you people aren't wrong right? If Josh was really betraying the team by wanting to get paid, they would be mad or at least wouldn't be publicly backing him on social media like Tre Boston and Charles Tillman and Bene Benwikere and Mike Tolbert and Ryan Kalil and Kawann Short (that I know of so far) have done in the past hour.

So all the Huddlers saying Josh put money and greed ahead of the team...I haven't heard one person that actually plays on that team echo that. Just the opposite. Interesting, what's up with that?

Could you possibly at least consider being a little less of a drama queen?

A player choosing to sign elsewhere is not the end of the world.

Someone needs to make a greatest hits of all your reactionary posts throughout the years. They're comical to say the least.

he lost some bet he made in hilarious fashion one time.  i forget over what.

seriously though i have a certain amount of respect for ol SMF because he was saying some very brave, controversial things about john fox and jake delhomme at a time when nobody wanted to hear it.  and he was largely on point.

That's still hyperbole. There are camp body and UDFA salaries after all. Josh, as long as he was responsible with his cash, made a decent amount in those years.

Sure Josh made a "Decent" amount. But we are talking the NFL here. Violent sport with a short shelf life. Oh, and you don't make it big in the NFL without working your azz off. People pay big bucks in support of the NFL, players get only a small percentage of that money.

Josh bet on himself. He won big time. To hate on him for that is just selfish. Plain and simple.

Maybe...

But it is probably impossible to name a 28 yr old All Pro CB that only pocketed 2 mill over the course of his career in recent history.  Norman was just wierdly timed when all is factored in

There was no future for Josh here. The 1 year rental was completely pointless. The use of the franchise tag is to allow more time for negotiations with a player who the team believes is a "franchise" player. We'll use that money on much more important players. It was a necessary move for the future of this team. It won't show this year, but it will in the long run.

We could have won a Super Bowl with that "1 year rental". We're not making the Super Bowl now, much less winning it. Josh Norman is roughly 10 times the player Brandon Boykin is.

did you look at our roster in august 2015 and say "yep, that's a super bowl team"

I didn't and neither did anyone else. But we lost the Super Bowl last year and we're going to have a worse roster in 2016. I think we're looking at Year 22 of no Super Bowl win.

To the dude making $80K, does your job leave you at risk for screwing your brain up to the point where you're at risk of committing suicide at age 45? Let's not forget Josh had a serious concussion last year.

His concussion was really minor actually. Though I'm sure the fact he suffered one didn't escape him.

Josh did not have a concussion last year. The only time he got taken out was when Luke knocked him out of bounds and he lost his balance. The ref made him leave the game, and he was back in the next play.

Making things up to back your point. Who does that sort of thing? Oh yeah. My 12 year old nephew.

And your point is a perfect argument for why Josh SHOULD get all the money he can. Permanent injury is a real problem in the NFL.
