NFC personnel director not impressed with WR class

As one who is a little skeptical of the WR class, I can say that I am not surprised that an unnamed personnel director has referred to this WR class as "a bad group."

"It's just a bad group," the director said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "There's not one sure thing."

Now the good thing is that we are probably in pretty good shape with what we already have if this guy's opinion turns out to be true. I mean it's not like we need a consensus WR1 as much as we need a playmaker with exceptional hands. Furthermore, if there is some legitimate talent to be found, if anybody can identify it, Gettleman and company can.

And lastly, some of you might really want to rethink Hunter Henry. As unbelievable as it may seem, he could turn out to be the surest wideout in this class. At the very least, he could be just what the doctor ordered for our offense.

This guy sounds like a few of our own Huddlerz. Some on here pretty much think the whole draft class is poo.

Whereas, there are a few of us who truly believe there is talent in this draft. Maybe not sure fire All Pro talent. But you still need talented kids to compete.

Anyway. Thanks for a thread that isn't about Josh.

Treadwell at 30 would be a dream come true.

I just don't see it happening, but anything is possible.

I just wonder if Dave would have him ranked ahead of Hunter Henry, especially considering that we already have KB and Funch.

Honestly, Shephard is the closest thing to a sure thing in this draft, in my opinion.  The only other I'd consider giving that label to is Doctson.  I think Treadwell has a VERY high chance of being very good, but he could also be another Dwayne Jarrett or Brandon Lafell.  Worth the gamble imo, though.  Coleman has a high chance of being another Brandin Cooks, Tavon Austin, etc etc etc, imo.  I'd still take him at 30, but not if I was a team in the top 20 though.

Funch isn't anything like Treadwell. Funch belongs in the slot. With Treadwell, Funch and KB and then Philly/Ginn as situational players our receiver group would be tremendous. Treadwell's going to be like Dez Bryant. If he falls to us he will almost certainly be BPA. But I don't see him falling. Henry's solid but is more of a 35-50 prospect, in my opinion. Treadwell's top 15 on my board. I would be DG has Treadwell above him but who knows. I'm no expert, just a dumb fan like everyone else here.

Cooks had over 1100 yards last season.  He's really good.

Agreed on Shepard though.

huh, I didn't know that.  I just knew every time I've seen him play he hasn't looked good.  I think a Jimmy Grahamless, old Colston, and no other receiving targets in a passing game stat inflating system might have a little to do with those 1100 yards though.  They've had a few nobody WRs these past few years putting up solid stats.  1100 is impressive though, won't deny it.

good thing we have a bonified #1 beast and another closer to 6'5 than 6'4 beast younger than me bout to beast out the #2..  seems like the perfect draft to get our #3 in the mid rounds..  if not, i like PhillyB.     not the alchohol phillyB, the football phillyB
