The Josh hate is pretty sad. He gave everything for the Panthers. Best CB in team history and people want to help him pack because he wants to be paid what he's worth.

Guy leaves a championship team over what will end up being a negligible amount of money once you net out taxes and cost of living and we're suppose to be happy for him?

And he isn't the best Panthers corner in team history. One years worth of production doesn't earn you this title.

In the scheme of things, what's the difference between 16 and 12 million dollars a year?  All this 'getting paid' stuff is nonsense.  Yeah, he's an athlete who has a small window to make bank, but he's not standing in line every morning at Crisis Ministries for breakfast.  He'll make more next year than most of us will in a lifetime.

It's ego and we all know it, even Igo. Jno wants to be paid top dollar and to get that, he's going to sacrifice winning.

Financially, not really that much but I don't think it's really about that. Josh seems like a guy who wants and needs to be loved. It's about respect.

"We think you're pretty good, but really you're only a zone corner, a function of our scheme and the front seven so we're going to offer you less than the other CBs you compare yourself too. Oh and we only want you for a couple years because you're old."

He balled out all season and was awesome in the Super Bowl and he got treated like an object. He's emotional. That probably hurt him a lot. He's a weird dude, but that's part of the reason everyone loved him.

Happy for him? No, but you don't have to act like some he's some piece of poo who deserves failure.

I understand that, but there comes a point where you want to win or you want to make the money.  Can't have both, not at his position with this franchise.

Well, he's flying to DC instead of SF.

That's because they have already offered him.  I'm sure if SF makes an offer he will visit them shortly after.  I remember him being blown away by the city of SF during super bowl week, so I could see him at least paying them a visit .  Obviously he could have a great visit tomorrow and end it, but if he doesn't he could take multiple visits.

Good for Norman.     His rookie contract ended and he is going to be 29 this year.    fug the notion of  accepting less money  for an attempt to get a SB ring.    This will probably be his only chance to get a massive contract.  ..  he should get as much as he can so he can better take care of himself and his family,  in the future,   after football.

Josh Norman is the most greedy, overrated player in the league. If he was a true NFL player, he would have followed Charles Johnson's example and signed for like 1 year, $1 million. Realistically, that's all the money you need in life. He should have never crossed a leader with brass balls like Dave Gettleman! GETTLEMAGIC

Definitely should have followed Charles Johnson's example.     Gouge us for as much money as possible,  and then after paying him $20M the previous year,  for bottom of the barrel production,  .....he can take a little pity on us and sign  a one year,  dirt cheap contract.

Lol!

I urge ppl to watch the 30 for 30 special featuring the Orlando Magic to try and understand why Josh wants the contract he wants. (Reason why Shaq left Orlando)

He will get his long-term deal with the 49ers at least.

Glad to see he got his.  But I agree, if reports were that we came in around 12, and he ends up signing for 14, then something bad was going on in the conversations.  That's a shame.

Still believe that Gettleman asked for a guarantee that Norman would play on the franchise tag and not hold out. He did not get that guarantee and with the May 12 deadline looming  to get compensation via a pick, he was forced to let him go.
