We all know Josh was a big part of this team, and with this post I'm not saying that he wasn't. I've always had the thought pattern that the front seven is what comes first defensively. Signing Norman to what he wanted would put us at the risk of losing Star or Short or potentially both this offseason. Would the old school Ravens have parted with Tony Siragusa to keep Chris McCalister? CB's play in the secondary... A 'secondary' meaning they are secondary to the front 7 on a NFL defense. If all you want is 16 mil/year go rot in Jacksonville. If you want to be a team player, care about the team and understood the situation you and your stupid agent would not be deciding between Chicago, Tennessee, San Fran, Jacksonville or LA. You would have signed the tag and been preparing for a Super Bowl run. "know your worth" or go play for the Titans for the rest of your career hoping to make the playoffs.

    • We aren't ignoring it. We also aren't ignoring the Dallas game, the start of this year, or all of last last year. He won himself a spot on the roster next year and being the presumptive QB1 going into camp. That counts for a lot given where he was.
    • I couldn't watch that game specifically and my take is more in general of course - any team can beat any other on any given Sunday in the NFL. The Chiefs are not juggernauts this year by any means and I'd be shocked if they go too deep in the playoffs, but that is kind of my point; Carolina kicked 4 field goals of 33 yards or less that day. Gotta have TDs against the best to win and even 1 TD instead of a field goal wins that game. Is that all on Bryce? No, and no game comes down to a single play (e.g. the Eagles drop, Chuba's OT fumble, etc). MY point is that I'm not seeing anything yet that projects him above that Bridgewater/Smith level and these game outcomes are exactly in line with that performance trajectory.
    • Happy to see Bryce get better--until we have a top 10 QB, however, you keep shopping.  He has until we find someone better to prove himself. If he lessens the need, he extends his longevity.  That is how it is for all NFL players.
