Dave has literally never lied to the media.  Ever. Actually bring up something that he has said in the past that he lied about. Even with smitty he said "we are evaluating everyone"

We traded up for Funchess a couple hours later.

He also said that Byron Bell would be better at LT and that we were fine with Chandler at RT. He was either lying or incompetent. I choose to believe he is not that stupid.

He said Michael Oher as the LT during the Ravens Super Bowl run. Oher got moved to RT for the entirety of the playoffs because he sucked at LT. Not entirely untrue but a deception.

There are other examples where he has said things that later his moves directly contradicted his statements to the media, but I don't really feel like looking up all his press conferences.

For the record, I believe deception and lying to the media is a necessary part of the job. It's not a negative. I actually think he would be better off being more deceptive

Yep.  There's no advantage for us, when every other team knows your interests.

Dude, seriously? If you don't love what Gettleman has done and will continue to do for this team and don't trust him please go find another team to pull for. Gentleman is straight up.

How does not believing absolutely everything someone says to the media mean I don't think he is extremely good at his job? He should be lying to the media. It's part of the job.

If someone pays him 16 million a year it's going to end up hurting them in the end. You have to be more than just a really good player to command that type of money. The thing that Josh didn't realize is we can't pay every good player we have 16 million a year. It's just not feasible or sustainable.

Unless its Chicago or Jacksonville.  Either of those two teams could pay him 20 million for this year, and still have plenty of cap space left.
