Boykin will probably leave.  The Panthers are becoming the go-to spot for DBs to come in and shine and then cash in elsewhere.  It's why I'm not panicking about losing Norman.  It sucks, but we'll still field a top D, just watch.

If he was then he wouldn't be a free agent. But our front 7 has made about every DB combo we've thrown out there look like an all star squad. The strength of our defense isn't the secondary…they benefit from the pressure. Bring em all in…Cromartie, Hall, Tillman again.

having great corners isnt a need in our zone blitz defense. the key it getting to the QB and forcing him to make bad decisions by confusing him

 

Ealy had a pick by dropping back for god sakes. as long as we have a good consistent passrush, we will be fine as a defense. we dont need all world corners if the passrush is there (2013)

We are barely +1 in the compensatory pick balance, which could shift if more FAs are signed before the cutoff.  Velasco cleared the min by about 50k.  

 

If Norman is given a big contact, we could possibly be looking at 2 comps.  If we bring in a vet and pay him over 960k we could be in jeopardy of not receiving a pick at all.  

 

If we bring someone in, it will likely be after the June 1st cutoff where acquisitions no longer count against comp picks.
