Panthers rescind Norman's franchise tag...

So I took my daughter to watch NC State vs UNCG softball game. It was a nice couple of hours hanging out with my buddy. It seems I missed some news.

Fwiw...DBs don't win rings. Front 7s and efficient offenses do.

Watch KK get a long term deal now before the season starts. Heavily front loaded with guarantees.

Can you imagine what a distraction that would have been IF Josh was still on the team and he saw us give KK a long term deal and NOT him.  He would have been pissed !!

This is what Gman has to think about and this is part of the reason he made this decision.

The Broncos beat us in the super bowl because Vin Miller stuck his cock in Mike Remmers ass.

The secondary had very little to do with anything.

Your kind of wrong, secondary def palyed role in disrupting the timing of routes, and when the balls where thrown they where contested catches. BTW we didn't have a # 1 WR but then again we got shredded by Colin Kaepernick in the playoffs when we had  Elite DL. BTW  Pass rusher wins game but guess what hour DL could get the pass rushers to Kaepernick cause they had # 1 OL which if Cam had then we could have won then agian.... Everything goes hand in hand.

ESPN's Ed Werder believes the Cowboys are candidates to pursue free agent CB Josh Norman.

As Werder notes, Dallas' two returning starters at cornerback combined for zero INTs in 2015. Brandon Carr has been an inconsistent disappointment, while Morris Claiborne busted long ago. According to Over the Cap, the Cowboys currently have just $7.61 million in salary cap space. Signing Norman might allow Dallas to focus on Joey Bosa should Jalen Ramsey go before the No. 4 pick.

I disagree, even when cam had time our wrs had a hard time getting separation, to say there secondary had very little to do with anything is a reach.

I'm mad at no one. Norman deserves to be paid like a top corner, because he is one. CB is not valued as highly in our system as it is in others. DL is. That money is going to go to KK, Star, KB, and possibly Ealy in the coming years. This is definitely a "sacrifice one life to save 100" kind of deal. In my opinion, our defense would be better with two CBs at 8 million each, than 1 at 16 and another at 2.

Josh must've gave DG the impression he would hold out into camp and possibly the season. No way you just rescind even if you can't get a long term deal done. Let him play a year and groom a replacement. None of this is adding up and we are going to miss the poo out of his play. Scary.

That's my thinking. Josh and his agents where going to play games about when they planned on signing the tag. Not saying that's wrong, cause that's what power they have...... Just Dave didn't care for that type of game. Dave offered the tag and was working towards a contract with years, while agents and Josh wanted QB money... Dave been fair til now, but this was dirty.

Plus I believe his agents claimed they have offers to pay Josh 16 per and they where not taking one less penny......Dave heard that for the past year and calling his bluff after the gold rush is over.

Dave has the teams best interest at heart. Not sure he did anything dirty as I think he really tried to get a deal done. Josh and his agent played it all wrong by not signing the tender and playing hardball.

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
