If you have been around here for the last 3 years you would know that Gman is willing to pay a fair value for a player. If he and Josh could not get together on a price. The chances are, Josh wanted significantly more than what Gman was willing to pay. Plain and Simple.

 

Also, throwing out numbers without knowing the truth is a bad argument.

You know what, there's a huge void at corner now. Gotta think if they don't get one in the draft they'll sign a vet to start on the outside. I know they've looked at a lot of safeties in the predraft process but haven't heard much on corners

Now, Norman hits the open market and while some teams are tapped out, other teams are flush with cap space. That list of teams includes the 49ers and, as Adam Schefter of ESPN.com tweets, the idea of playing in California appeals to Norman. The Rams, Bears, and Titans also have room to spend.

What if Panthers only offered 9 million a season max. Josh is clearly worth at least 12.5-14 a season long term. You always start high and work down in negotiations.

 

The fact is without knowing what the Panthers offered, you can't legitly blame Josh. Hypothetically what if they offered the 4 year 7m per deal from last offseason again. 

 

Thats not negotiating in good faith at all. Clearly I'm not saying this happened just what if.
