Hope he signs with the 49ers so he'll be here for our home opener.

Seriously guys, you can support this move without going in personally on Josh. That is incredibly amateurish and stupid. My GOD, have you forgotten how great he was for us last season and how much fun he's been on Huddle podcasts/WFNZ/social media/etc?

You are absolutely right about this.

norman has been a great panther since he has been here. He had a hell of a year this year and I don't blame him for trying to get what is best for him and his family.

I also don't blame gettleman. Riveras defense doesn't value corners the way others do. When Norman started playing well, it became pretty evident this relationship had a shelf life. That shelf life is a year earlier than we thought it would be.

This isnt us turning on him or Gman being a dick. This is pure greed by Norman. We award him 13 mil, which was a huge increase on his salary and he snubbed his nose at it.

He didn't snub his nose at it. Lmao, he wanted a long term deal for top level cb pay because of his age. It's the smart decision business wise.

And in your infinite financial knowledge usmcpanthers, how much was too much? Whatever Gettleman says it is?

people who are thinking gettleman wasn't "seriously negotiating" have no clue what that is. you want him to just jump up his number every time josh fires one back? do you think we would negotiate against ourselves? when a guy puts up a massive number and refuses to go down after you show him it's not gonna be that way, you walk away.

So I'll gladly be accepting the crow anyone wants to eat when they told me josh is definitely getting tagged when I said they were either giving him the long term or letting him walk. The vast majority of this board didn't think it was disrespectful to give josh the tag and he wouldn't be upset by getting it.

Make a neat and orderly line please :)

I said the same thing bruh. People really thought that Norman would just accept playing a year into turning 30 with no long term deal after the year he just had. Just delusional all around.

I mean I understand Josh's thinking, he is 28 and this is his last chance at the big money, but this is pure greed. He should of played under the tag and had more leverage for a long term deal the next season. this will backfire on him

I might be in the minority, but I think Norman is very good CB, but I think the system we employ benefits the corners.  Remember,  Gettleman was in NY where they won 2 rings with the likes of Aaron Ross and RW McQuarters playing CB. A dominant D Line makes everything a little better.

There had to have been some worry about a sour element in the locker room as well

I trust.

I think josh made what 3mil last year, getting awarded up to 13 mil was plenty for 1 year of elite play. Josh should of played the tender than used that as more leverage to force his hand. Instead Josh will go to a team without a great front 7 and this will back fire on him.
