Panthers rescind Norman's franchise tag...

We couldn't have traded him for even a 3rd or something since he wasn't under contract. Could've tried to work something out with Josh, his agent, and another team but guess DG decided wasn't worth the distraction. Unbelievable.

Why does anyone have to be villainized in this situation? This is business, people.  G-man did not want to pay Josh what he believed he was worth. Norman bet on himself and thinks he played himself into the jackpot. We will see if he is right.

The fact is that the chasm between what was offered and what was expected must have been so wide that Norman probably felt insulted, or at least that what Getty was offering was unfair and didn't meet the litmus test of good faith in his camp's estimation.

This could clearly be a case of Norman playing above G-man's budgetary expectations. As such, there is no need to get all salty at either one of them.

Hope he signs with the 49ers so he'll be here for our home opener.

Seriously guys, you can support this move without going in personally on Josh. That is incredibly amateurish and stupid. My GOD, have you forgotten how great he was for us last season and how much fun he's been on Huddle podcasts/WFNZ/social media/etc?

This isnt us turning on him or Gman being a dick. This is pure greed by Norman. We award him 13 mil, which was a huge increase on his salary and he snubbed his nose at it.

And you can disagree without making teenage meltdown level comments.

I just went through this entire thread and did not see a single bit of hate towards Josh, so I don't know the fug you're talking/freaking out about.

I see a couple hate comments, which is definitely uncalled for

A person doesn't play for the team anymore, ok it happens all the time. Josh never once dissed any fan of this organization. And I hate people talking about what another man is worth. If Josh can go get 100 mil, go get it my brother

So I'll gladly be accepting the crow anyone wants to eat when they told me josh is definitely getting tagged when I said they were either giving him the long term or letting him walk. The vast majority of this board didn't think it was disrespectful to give josh the tag and he wouldn't be upset by getting it.

Make a neat and orderly line please :)

Being right on the internet is serious business.

2 years ago, people were talking of cutting him. He hasn't established any consistency. One good year. It'll be so fun watching him on a team that misses the playoffs every year or better yet he goes back to sucking ass.

This damn poo. And if Norman somehow does resign with us, you'll be crying tears of joy and sucking his dick. Some of you people are damn cultists.

My God the amount of people that don't understand the emotional and business side of all of this is mind boggling. Just absolutely embarrassed at a good portion of our fan base rn.

Um, he was literally compared to Greg Hardy at one point.

Seems to be a bit of silliness all around.

watch how quickly the Huddle will turn on him. can't blame him for wanting to get paid, but it's not gonna happen here. on the bright side, I bet that KK deal gets done soon.

Don't know what makes this better, KK is arguably the best DT in the league now and they get even more money than corners. You may be looking at a 90 to 100 million dollar contract with him.  He would need have another good year to justify that. I don't understand the thinking  here, this fan base is gonna end up hating everybody outside of Cam and luke.

There is a strong correlation between people that like this move and Donald Trump supporters. Just let that swirl ahead around in your head a while.

I know the popular opinion is that Gettleman did the right thing... but if he'd have taken a little risk on Josh he would've had a very friendly deal last year.  It goes both ways.  Josh bet on himself, and I'm sure Gettleman was friendly and supported his decision to "prove" that he was worth big time money at the time.  Gettleman may have very well reneged on his word, or given him the same pitch as last year.

I think Josh's contributions from last year are extremely undervalued, and when we start getting burned in our already weak secondary again people will realize that he would've been worth the money.  We had a true shutdown corner, and let him walk.  Maybe Gettleman has an anger issue... we'll never know.  But we have just taken a step back as a franchise, and are officially weaker as a team possibly because of egos.

We're trying to win a championship.  We just had part of our edge taken away.  How soon some forget, but regardless, there's a reason G-Man is paid the big bucks.  He better have something up his sleeve this time.

God, I forgot how much I hated High School. You two sound like a kid that didn't get their own way. LOL at both of you.
