Made it to page three and no mention of chocolate chip cookies. I'm not talking about the store brand crap, but the fresh out of the oven, still gooey and warm kind. Plus I would rather have a cookie cake than a regular cake on my birthday even at 36. 

I don't go for flash or razzle dazzle, I want a solid starter that can be an all pro for years to come

This might be considered more Snack than desert but Muddy buddies/Puppy Chow/Whatever the hell you call it. The Chex cereal with peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar.
