Can Newton

i honestly still think that Cam has just scratched the surface of how good he can be. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities for him to throw for 5000, run for 750, throw 40-50 TD and run for another 12-15. I know those are wild numbers, but not crazy for Cam. If Ginn could catch he would have had 40 TDs passing this year...and that's all without the services of KB, who if we all remember was looking like an absolute animal in training camp, and even that first pre-season game.

I don't know if they would ever open the offense up like that with our coaches now though, but a guy can dream!

That would mean Cam, by himself, matched the highest scoring offense in league history (2007 Patriots).  We've averaged 9 rushing TDs outside of Cam per season since his arrival.  We would without a doubt go 19-0 if this were actually a possibility lol.

I mean hey, we were the number 1 offense in the league last year with what we would all say is mediocre talent at most skill positions....

Do TEs count as skill positions?  Because certainly Greg isn't mediocre.  His blocking may at times be iffy, but his route running, ability to get open, make contested catches and generally be a safe option for Cam to throw to is pretty stellar.

Also, I don't think Stew is mediocre either.  Perhaps not elite, but consistently very solid.  Well above average.  Just look at our streak of something like 29 consecutive games with 100+ rushing yards.... not been done since the mid 70s.  (Forget what the actual figure is, and too lazy & busy today to look it up).   My only concern re: Stew is that he's not always able to withstand the pounding.  I think his injury in the SB was a big factor in our loss.  He had only 29 yards rushing against Denver IIRC.
