I'm still not convinced he's the target and wish Zod would drop a little more than the cryptic broad strokes he's been dishing out, but I think its interesting to note that virtually every year since Rivera has got here this kind of discussion has happened over the player most commonly linked to us by people close to the team and that player has always ended up being the pick.

 

Cam, Luke, Kelvin, Shaq. Its an annual thing and Henry appears to be the guy who has taken on the role of Huddle debate topic this year.

I will go with a different opinion and say that Derrick Henry is going to be an excellent running back in the NFL. There would be no hate from me if we select him at pick 30. I may be wrong but I think him and Keith Marshall will be the two best running backs from this draft class. Just my opinion.

I dont get why people hate on henry . Is it because he played for bama? Because the media said he sucks? Guys a straight beast and we would be lucky to get him. Hes the perfect fit for our offense with his power running and the guy has break away speed hes a freak and just close your eyes and picture him next to cam in the backfield with kelvin to his left and funchess to his right and tolbert right infront blocking him thats basically an unstoppable offense imo

The more I look at the breakaway speed this guy has, at that size, I'm officially on board with him being the pick.  Some will argue we don't need a RB.  We also don't need a TE in Hunter Henry, or even a DE in Kevin Dodd and Emmanuel Ogbah.  We either have depth at those positions or we have sufficient starters.  To tell you the truth, we have such a good team, it almost doesn't matter who the pick is, but again I'm really taking a liking to Henry being the pick.

I think most people realize that he isn't worth the first round.  But it's all about this year's draft and Getts's BPA philosophy. Henry did well at Alabama, but really came into the light during the Championship.  Whether that's enough for Getts to bite, I couldn't say because I haven't scouted D. Henry.  But it's one of the reasons why people around here are talking about him so much.

I personally would much rather have Kenneth Dixon in the second round. He's a monster who refuses to go down and is really shifty for anyone that hasn't seen him.
