Josh Norman is NOT going to do Offseason Workouts

It has been my opinion for a long time that Josh is benefited by a great defensive unit.

Von Miller is just plain better. There is really no one who would argue that.

Well first off one is a DE, and one is CB. Von can't do what Josh does, and Josh can't do what Von does. So that makes no sense

Yikes, some of the bitterness in here is downright pathetic.

So I take it the fans in here telling Norman to basically fug off somewhere else won't in fact be celebrating with the rest of us this season when Josh picks off a pass?

Don't be such fairweather douche nozzles.

So when Gettleman makes moves like releasing the best player in team history"it's a business" but if Josh holds out because he wants to be compensated of what he believes he's worth he's the villian?

Josh is only going to get one long term contract in his career and this is it. It's not like he's made a ton of money already, with him being older this is his last chance of getting paid. Get your money Josh.

I'm already anticipating the backlash next off season when kawaan is asking for a lot of money. It will be a knew target every off season.

Well, it is a tradition here on the Huddle.  I also can't wait until preseason for the Huddle to fall in love with the 6th string running back proclaiming him the best running back on the team.

I'm not sure what the "me first" folks are talking about.

The "sandy vag" people are just as annoying.

I just don't understand the risks he's taking?  Why risk injury, training?  Sign the tender then get at it while still angling for the long term deal.  I'd rather see him hold out if the Panthers try to stall on a contract than see him get hurt training on his own.

It's what happens when you keep drafting great players and can't afford to keep them all.

Someone's gotta be the villain.

That is how things are turning out around here nowadays. Every so often we are going to lose a decent player or two. Too bad Josh ain't a couple years younger. He could absorb the tag, and still get paid next year. The way things are now, he really has few options. He may still get paid next year anyways. It just probably won't be here. Unless by some dumb luck he and Gman can figure out a deal to keep him here. And at this point, I ain't gonna hold my breath. Well, with having COPD and all, I ain't holding my breath anyway. lol

Although, I will say. 14mil for next year is still a nice chunk of change. But say a 4 year deal at close to 50mil sounds a heck of a lot better. Sorta feel bad for Josh.

I assume we have very few business management types on this forum.

Josh is looking out for his best interest. He'll be there in TC. He respects too many guys in the locker room to become a cancer. He may not be as happy go lucky, but oh well. He'll show up when he has to and he'll be in shape and healthy, barring something crazy like him falling down a flight of stairs or meeting Pacman Jones in a club. All that matters.

I have mixed feelings about this. Although I say be a team player and attend, it is frustrating to see a player like Norman with one year of production under his belt request to be the highest CB in the game. Although it is a business and he is looking out for his financial well-being lets be realistic here.  We all know how Panthers deal with distractions or "cancers" in the locker room.  He'll eventually show up at camp ball out on his contract year then someone will offer him a ridiculous contract which GettleFather will be too smart to match.
