Anybody wondering what Sherrod Martin is doing these days?

Dunno if this is already common knowledge here or not, but apparently he is now a barber. Someone mentioned him in a thread the other day heh. Dunno if this link is gonna work right, I don't have a twitter account. CJ stopped by his place for a cut.

He played in 24 games between Jacksonville and Chicago the past two years, so it's not like he's been completely MIA for years. That said, good to see guys that have a plan for life after the NFL.

I still follow him on Twitter.  He cuts a lot of ball players hair.  Does some cool work if you're in to that style.

He never should have been a safety. He was a CB2.

Good for him. I remember how excited I was for him. IIRC, he intercepted Kurt Warner a couple times in his first start. Unfortunately, his start was not an indication of how the rest of time with the Panthers would be. Regardless, he always seemed like a good guy, and I'm glad he is doing well after his playing days are over.

He was good in zone coverage. 09 weren't we running a man coverage scheme?

You're thinking of Charles Godfrey who played corner in college and we moved him to safety. Martin was always a safety

No I'm not. Sherrod played S at Troy but didn't have the strength and downhill tackling ability to be a safety. He should have been a CB2.
