RIP Will Smith (former saints DE)

Sean Payton comes out strongly against guns and I am with him, I don't understand this whole gun thing.

Payton, who revealed that Smith was set to re-join the organization as a coaching intern, was unable to sleep after hearing about Smith's death and wound up driving to the site of the shooting at 5:45 a.m. He did research on the .45 large caliber gun that killed Smith.

"We could go online and get 10 of them, and have them shipped to our house tomorrow," Payton said. "I don't believe that was the intention when they allowed for the right for citizens to bear arms."

I know this is probably not the right place to post this , But something is not right with this case at all . They are more to it then what is being told it seems , That or I need lot's of sleep /no clue\

This is a longer video of surveillance cameras gathered before all this went down , In this you can see Mr.Smith did indeed hit Mr,Hayes vehicle and fled the seen as well .. But in the Timeline of events leading up to the shooting Smith at some point had to have called his friends in the other car to meet up with him at some point before the shooting took place for some odd reason  , Too many coincidences for it to be just random that he would end up behind  a car with 2 other friends in front of him right before the confrontation/shooting took place .. Strange.  in the Hit and run of Mr. Hayes vehicle  Mr.Smiths  friends car is nowhere to be seen up until the final confrontation that ended up being a shooting

"'This guys start freaking out on this guy "WE going to fight you . ' And then this guy  goes ' get out of the ***** way i have a gun , Fk YALL i have one too.' And then he grabs a gun and shoots him," the witness said.

I guess the bottom line is that the media lies to us all so much it is hard to believe anything they say anymore , Seems to be  a lot more to this then what has been told from the get go

NFL Player Will Smith Was Acting Crazy Running Around With His Shirt Off And Said He Had A Gun Before He Was Shot Dead

According to witnesses, NFL star #iWillSmith allegedly acted crazy before he was shot and killed. At least two witnesses are saying Will Smith “freaked out” and wanted to fight Mr. Hayes. A witness said he heard Mr. Smith say he had a gun. Mr. Hayes then opened fire on Will Smith killing him dead.  Will Smith friends were there, and Cardell Hayes had a passenger in the vehicle with him as well. Police will wait for a toxicology report on Will Smith. A witness recorded everything right after the gunshots went off its crazy.

The thing about guns is, you don't need one until you need one, then it's too late to get one.

Exactly.

The world absolutely would be a better and safer place if no one had guns.  But, that is just not reality.  I will own mine for protection as long as the dirt bag criminals in this country and world have them.

But, I absolutely believe in gun safety.  I have taken several gun safety courses.....my wife has taken the safety course....I even required my kids to take the safety course even though they have zero access to the gun (they need to understand it is absolutely not a toy).  I also keep it locked in a gun safe that has a security code and fingerprint access.  It is ONLY there for my protection and the only time it comes out is to clean it and fire it at the range once a year to ensure it is in good working order.  I also NEVER clean it with anyone else in the room.....just to be safe.

its obvious that Will Smith was involved in a hit and run and left the scene of an accident.  The driver of the Hummer tailed him.  Regardless of all that, it doesn't really matter when it comes to the shooting.  Hayes still pulled the trigger and killed someone.  He is guilty of that.

witness in the video here who heard the argument says he heard Smith say "I have a gun" before he heard the shooter say "Yeah, I have one too" before retrieving and pulling out his own gun,

If what is being said is true in any way   IF  Smith did indeed say he had a gun first that would make Smith the aggressor by law . And this Law would then come into effect as well .

Any person "who is in a place where he or she has a right," including a public space, does not have an obligation "to retreat" if faced with a real or perceived threat and "may stand his or her ground and meet force with force."No one acting in self-defense under these laws can be civilly prosecuted for the use of force, deadly or otherwise.

STAND YOUR GROUND LAWS

In 2006, legislation introduced by then state Rep. Eric LaFleur added the "stand your ground" provisions to Louisiana's castle laws. All previous castle law provisions remained in place.

After the bill passed and was signed into law by Gov. Kathleen Blanco, the new self-defense laws included multiple new provisions:

Any person "who is in a place where he or she has a right," including a public space, does not have an obligation "to retreat" if faced with a real or perceived threat and "may stand his or her ground and meet force with force."
During criminal court proceedings, a judge or jury can't consider the "possibility of retreat" as a factor in determining whether someone lawfully used force in self-defense.
No one acting in self-defense under these laws can be civilly prosecuted for the use of force, deadly or otherwise.

Keeps getting more and more weird.

Yep, but the basic story hasn't really changed. Even if all the other stuff were completely true, it wouldn't change the fact that the guy's guilty of murder.

Florio (who was an attorney at one time) points out that if the hit and run thing is valid, it adds premeditation to the mix and bumps up the charge to first degree murder.

If Smith indeed did say that, weather he had one or not, that foolishness cost him his life.  If I'm in that situation, and I fear for my safety/can't safely remove myself from the situation, I'm not waiting to see if he is bluffing either.  Especially if the person is acting strangely.

That said, if someone runs into your car, and speeds off, please don't follow them..there is not much good that can come from it.
