Well this thread is rather embarrassing for the huddle, but unfortunately not unexpected.

Terrible unnecessary tragedy for a family.

It was one guy...and yet you're right. That was the most ignorant poo I've seen on here and I spend time in the TB.

Prayers to the Smith family.

I used to live on Murphy's street in Bossier City when I was in the AF....three murders on that street in 1 week prompted me to move on base...LA is full of murderers.

Oh and they stole my lawn mower and boots....

In his haste to get ahead of the liberals, he certainly exposed how much of a mental midget he is.

RIP to Will Smith. Such a total disregard for life.

Another brother takes the life of another brother, poo that happens far too often. So no, not all black lives matter because that thug up there does not deserve to live period.

Even the right wing nuts know you shoot to stop a threat, not to outright kill. He's just an idiot that has never had proper firearms training.

What has happened to cause our modern society to become so weak and dishonorable. Say what you will about the old days but they were MEN. You could have a disagreement and even beat the crap out of one another and handle business. Hell some of my best friends in life started out as guys I had fights with. Now, if someone wrongs you people get so butt hurt that they have to kill the other person. No pride, no honor, no one willing to learn from their mistakes and move forward.

Personal editorial note... too many puzzy's out there getting told they are special and getting everything handed to them. Screw the participation trophies, the world doesn't owe you a damn thing. We need to learn to WORK again. That HARD work, sweat and honesty are what build a man and make him great. Going through the hurt and the pain and the disappointment are what makes life great when you break through. Government doesn't owe you sh1t, your family doesn't owe you sh1t.... YOU OWE YOURSELF!!!!!!

I have nothing but terrible things to say about this soapbox rant, but this thread is neither the time nor the place for it. I'll simply state that the "good ole days" never existed and direct you to the following graph depicting the US unemployment rate: https://www.google.com/publicdata/explore?ds=z1ebjpgk2654c1_&met_y=unemployment_rate&idim=country:US&fdim_y=seasonality:S&hl=en&dl=en

Shame on you for focusing on your own prejudices rather than the tragedy that occurred.

There is more to this than road rage.  The cops a quickly labeling this as a non issue and it will disappear under the torrent of heartfelt messages and highlight packages and moments of silence.

We will probably never know why this murder truly happened.

Very sad that the truth is enemy #1 in this country.

Where did i say one damn thing that was prejudice? I don't give a crap about race, gender or creed and never once mentioned any of that in my post. However this generation of new and young adults (I feel I can speak to this for this situation seeing as im right in the age range of both individuals involved in this incident) are all far too prone to violence and murder when they perceive someone has wronged them. You don't like it, fine but i think it very aptly applies to what happened today and I went out of my way to say that this was a horrible event and that i paryed for all associated with this in my very first post. Doesn't mean the causes, circumstances and existential aspects of this and similar situations can't be discussed as well.

Maybe its YOU who are focusing FAR too much on your own  prejudices and jumping to conclusions. Either way, we agree on one thing, this is neither the time nor the place.

Just saw the guy was booked for 2nd degree murder.

Innocent until proven guilty, I know.

However if your first thought at the news of someone being murdered relates to  a political stance you have, that's really fuging sad. Then to indulge on your political stance and make assumptions to align with your stance is even worse.

I cant pie this enough, so Ill just re-post it.

Hoo boy...

Quote

Dubbed an incident of road rage at first, theNew Orleans Advocate points out that Hayes sued the City of New Orleans in 2005 after police officers killed his father. Shortly before the automobile accident that resulted in Hayes shooting Smith and his wife, Smith and former Saints teammate Pierre Thomas had eaten dinner with Billy Ceravolo, one of the officers who shot Anthony Hayes and who was personally sued by Cardell Hayes.

Per the Advocate, Ceravolo described Smith and Thomas as personal friends. However, Ceravolo was not at the scene of the shooting. Ceravolo also claimed he wasn’t aware that Cardell Hayes had named Ceravolo in the lawsuit, which was settled in 2011 for what Hayes’ lawyer called a “large” amount of money.

If Cardell Hayes were merely seeking retribution, common sense suggests he would have simply shot Ceravolo. Then again, the mind of a person capable of killing another person isn’t always awash in rational thought. For now, the point is that either the incident of road rage carried with it a strange and bizarre coincidence, or that there really was no coincidence.

Nope, this happened because a large man got out of his car and threatened someone who was prepared to defend himself and his property.

If Will Smith wasnt a football player, most of you would be agreeing with me, and if it was YOU, and you had a weapon, you might have done the same thing.

Will Smith should have never threatened the other man.

Even if I am colpletely wrong, Smith still shouldnt have approched the other man in anger.

I'm gun toting MF'er.

The man who is responsible for the fender bender, and the death of smith, didn't have to get out of his car when smith got out of his to threaten the man.

Smith may have communicated a threat, but Hayes still made a councious decision to shoot smith & wife!!

Keep defending the asshole.
