Smiths' car was rear-ended. I have a hard time believeing that the person in the rear car would start a fight over something that was clearly his ownfault.

Not shocking what so ever.

I have long said in the TB, you want to start curbing gun violence in this country, start locking up those who commit crimes involving firearms.  You commit a gun related offense, no short terms, no time served, no early parole.

He was sentenced to 5 years, it was immediately suspended....would have still been in jail, and Smith and his wife would have made it home.

Just plain sad.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions that he had priors. I totally agree about gun violence begetting firm charges. Not inconsequently it would also aid, far more effectively i might add, in that little war on drugs we've been having. Far more than 10 year sentences for growing pot in your backyard or minor offenses. Take the idiots that don't know how to use weapons and use them appropriately out of the equation and incentivize the rest of society to become more educated in proper use and care of weapons. Fun fact of the day, the vast majority of gun violence is committed by those without training and education for using their firearm.
