Anyone just see DeAngelo Williams on SC?

I'm sitting at the bar for lunch (don't judge) and ESPN is on, without volume.

DWill is on and it showed a headline of "no new friends" and it showed panthers players tweeting at him re: his remarks before our Super Bowl. (He wasn't very supportive for those who don't remember). He seemed like he was having to explain himself, uncomfortably...

Anyone see this and can add insight on was said?

I saw it while on the treadmill and plugged my headphones in; he was joking, talking about not classifying specialists (K,P,etc.) as people or football players.  It came across as his usual weird "trying to be awkward" jokes that are just stupid.  I then plugged my headphones back into my phone.

D Will's career:

2006: Hit the hole? Nah dude go for homerun every time

2007: Hey I played good down the stretch but my cardio was meh so a 40 year old QB told me to get in shape

2008: Hay guys I'm in shape and one of the best players in the league.  No need for another RB see?

2009: Still good but w/e

2010: Skip

2011: Meh I kind of will work

2012. Same

2013: I'll try against the Saints

2014: We have momentum? Time to fumble.

2015: Look you guys, I'm in shape again! F U Gettleman.

Did catch the tail end of his segment on First Take. He still talks to Hardy but DV isn't discussed, wasn't truly aware how much of an issue DV was since he's so wrapped up in his Breast Cancer stuff then issued an apology to his teammate William Gay because Gay's mother was a victim of DV and Gay is very heavily involved in DV projects.

Back in 2014 (or 2013?) we had a MNF game against the Patriots. It was a black out, and I wore my black #34 jersey.

I went out to bars afterwards and took it off bc I was hot. I stashed it in what I thought was a safe, discrete place. Well someone stole it.

I ain't even mad anymore. I'm not sure I would have kept his jersey in my collection after his antics this past year.

How to be an NFL RB (according to Deangelo Williams)

1) line up way back

2) jog to the handoff

3) jump stop at the line

4) side step

5) fall down over someones feet

Repeat until someone gives you 40 million dollars.

6) Be Panthers all time leading rusher

    • Canales was brought in to fix Bryce. That was how he sold himself. He failed.  the panthers need a new qb, someone to coach him, and someone to build a defensive staff.  Canales has failed at developing a new qb. His big draft project XL is trending towards bust. His entire nfl resume before the panthers was one season as offensive coordinator on a stacked Bucs team, and being on the offensive staff when a 31 year old Geno smith finally put it all together. And he didn’t even pick his offensive coordinator. Assuming evero is gone, who’s he got in that phone to call? What low lvl porn addict evangelical from the bucs is ready to be Peter principled? There is nothing in his coaching history or his current performance that indicates he’s the person to move this team forward. Every other team knew this last cycle (panthers were only interview) and nothing has happened to change that perception   all people like you have is “well you can’t do it again it’s too soon but <random interval of time> will be different.  just pull off the bandage. There’s no reason to let this guy draft “his guy” except people wanting an excuse not to fire him after 2025.
    • Both Reich and Canales were saddled with trying to build and establish a viable scoring offense around Bryce Young. The best the offense looked this season and last season was with Andy Dalton who is also terrible but still better than Bryce Young. Which should be all anyone needs to know but still somehow there are weirdos here salivating over a ceiling of maybe on a really good day the 25th best QB in the league. We've already canned one entire staff over our first overall pick. You can fire everyone again to satisfy your need for vengeance and quickly come to the realization that your next hire will absolutely unequivocally be a downgrade yes man or you can blow up this QB room and then assess. If no progress next season then you can make changes and justifiably so.
    • Surprised this is the only post with this take.  This is like the Rhule kiss of death lol.
