Carolina Panthers Schedule Visit With Wide Receiver Moritz Boehringer

Interesting. I'd imagine we would be scheduling a private workout with him as well(no workouts on visits to the team) so Ricky can get a chance to work with him and see how prepared he is to play in the NFL. I'd think that a hands on workout would be of the utmost importance for an inexperienced guy like this with basically no useful tape.

I agree that Mortiz won't be able to use much of his film because of the lack of talent he played vs. But with that said, you can't teach guys to be 6'4 227 and running 4.3s and 4.4s.  Ricky can get his hands on this guy and turn him into a pretty decent WR I do believe.  Scouts and analysis had some concerns with KB coming out with this speed, hands, and route running and we all know how his first year went.   Cant teach the measurable.

There are two things I know....Gettleman has an eye for talent.  If he is using one of his 30 scheduled visits to meet with this guy, he has some talent.  Two, Ricky has done some great things with some of the WRs we have picked up that has had some past question marks and has molded them into serviceable WR for our team.

If we are really interested in Boehringer after his workout, we are likely going to have to get him before round six, as we don't have a pick in six and he won't be available for us in round 7 (if Getty doesn't even trade that pick away).

they will just convert him into a TE

He would need to put on 20-30 lbs, but he does have some experience at the position. If you watch his highlights he lines up as an inline TE quite frequently. He probably has less than zero experience blocking NFL sized athletes though.

Absolutely. Gettleman knows what an NFL player looks like. We have the luxury that our GM is one of the best talent evaluators in the league.

Two weeks ago, I gave everyone the heads up on German receiver Moritz Wilhelm Boehringer and he did not disappoint during his Pro Day last Thursday. He measured 6-4.5 and 227 pounds, posted a vertical jump of 39 inches and timed as fast as 4.38 seconds in the 40. Boehringer looked natural catching the ball during position drills. The comments I received during his Pro Day ranged from, “He’s a legitimate prospect,” to, “He’s a fourth-round pick.” In what is considered a poor receiver draft, no prospect at the position comes close to matching Boehringer’s size/speed numbers. His calendar for April is booked as Boehringer will visit seven teams while two additional franchises were disappointed to learn there’s not enough time on the schedule to fly him in. Boehringer is having an open workout for teams this Friday at Florida Atlantic University and this time he’ll be catching passes from Jacoby Brissett of North Carolina State.

I can't imagine Gettleman pulling the trigger in the 3rd as this draft is fairly deep in a lot of key positions of need for depth.  If anyone pulled the trigger for this guy in the 3rd round it would be probably one of the biggest reaches of all time lol.  I could see a manageable 5th-7th round pick for him.   But the dude has been impressive at his workouts.  I read that one of the key features that coaches are drooling over about Moritz is that is he super "coachable."  Not having a ton of experience blocking they said he picked up on coaching and corrections very quickly.

    • It is ridiculous how some people react when someone disagrees with their opinion. First of all, this is before the combine and there is a lot more info coming out.  If you have locked in on a pick you are a doofus.   That is right.  A doofus.  No, that was a test.  We have fake photos, names, and we are on the internet.  It takes zero courage to call people names--see? There are people who make solid points and back them with facts.  It is not important that you change someone else's mind or prove yourself to be right; it is important that we consider all viewpoints.  WRONG THINKING: I don't give a crap if Snow agrees with me--he likes being wrong, pathetic loser. CORRECT THINKING: Snow is not in agreement with my position.  What are his reasons?  Do I still believe my position?  Hmmm.  He has some good points.  I see his reasons.  I will stay with my position, but I appreciate the mature exchange of thinking. At no point should I attack him personally because that is what turds do in sanboxes when they are 6. It is not my position to focus on him--I should focus on his position.  I am not a child. This is sarcasm, but unfortunately, necessary.
    • JFC, what is wrong with the Huddle. Someone says Hurney drafted CMC and there is no correction? Our last good draft in 2017 was Gettleman drafting CMC, Samuel, Moton and Butker. Marty took over after the draft. All I know is that we have been so bad at drafting from 2018 to 2024 that people can’t even remember what we did in 2017 and before. All that said, I 100% promise to move my fandom if we take Jeanty at 8.
    • Considering that currently they will not pick again until pick 57 one would think that every player in-between could be in play as well. If they really want a pure edge rusher they will pick the best available after Carter. You may be on to something there MHS.
