Mock first round + poll for our pick

Thought I'd take an early stab at a mock round 1 and include a poll for what you guys think we should do with #30 based on what my mock has available to us.  Of course input and constructive criticism is welcome.

1. Titans - Tunsil.  About as slam dunk a pick as there is in this draft, assuming they don't trade out of it (doubt it).

2. Browns - Wentz.  RGKnee ain't the answer.  They're going to turn to Wentz early in this season, but at least he should get 1/4 - 1/2 of the season to sit and develop.

3. Chargers - Ramsey.  First difficult to predict pick.  Chargers could go MANY ways.  DL, OL. Pass rusher.  In my mock they pick the highest rated player at all positions.

4. Cowboys - Bosa.  I'm not the biggest believer in Bosa, and I'm tempted to give the Cowboys Goff, but Goff doesn't seem like a Cowboy to me.  Cowboys need pass rushers like a MF, and 4-3 DEs in this draft aren't plentiful at the top of the 1st round. 

5. Jags - Stanley.  Lot of ways the Jags could go.  Could take Myles Jack, I've seen that as a popular pick for them.  I'm not sure I see him as a top 5 pick though.  Their offense is on the cusp of being good.  They still need OLmen though.  Stanley is good.

6. Ravens - Noah Spence.  The first shocker of the draft.  I don't think Spence is a top 10 (or 15 or 32) prospect, personally.  But he does have high potential as a 3-4 OLB.  Suggs is old and the Ravens need pass rush help.

7. 49ers - Goff.  Sackorpick will either be gone or moping through the season.  They need a QB about as bad as any team in the NFL.  Goff seems more like a 49er to me than a Cowboy anyway.

8. Dolphins - Shaq Lawson.  Dolphins lost Vernon and Wake tends to get injured.  They need someone to benefit from and/or help the investment they made in Suh.

9. Bucs - Hargreaves.  The last decent CB they had (outside of Revis who they horribly misused) was Barber....a few years before he retired.  They could also take a DE like Dodd or Ogbah, but I think Hargreaves is the better overall prospect than either of them so they go with the board.

10. Giants - Myles Jack.  It seems like the Giants have needed LBs since the days of LT and Carl Banks.  This year they finally marry need with value.

11. Bears - DeForest Buckner.  Buckner slides a little in my mock, but is a great pick for the Bears and their new 3-4.

12. Saints - A'Shawn Robinson.  They take the best defensive player available.  They can use someone at pretty much every position on defense.

13. Eagles - Elliot.  This is one of the most consensus picks out there and I agree with it.  Good spot for Elliot.

14. Raiders - Darron Lee.  The Raiders offense is on the rise, though I was tempted to give them Corey Coleman.  Their defense has a ways to go though.  Darron Lee is a fast sideline to sideline LB that would be good opposite Mack.

15. Rams - Laquon Treadwell. They need help everyone on offense but RB.  They seem have picked small quick WRs numerous times in the recent past.  A possession WR with great hands is what they need.

16. Lions - Sheldon Rankins.  They need to beef up that DL, all they really have is an old Ngata and a rising superstar in Ansah. 

17. Falcons - Reggie Ragland.  I was tempted to give them Dodd because they still need pass rushers, but didn't because of scheme fit.  They need defensive players at all three levels, and Ragland in the middle with Upshaw on the outside can give them a potentially formidable LB corps.

18. Colts - Hunter Henry.  They lost Fleener, and their MO has been that Luck needs all the weapons.  This isn't the pick I think they SHOULD make, but this fits their pattern.  I do think Henry is a 1st round prospect.  A better prospect than Fleener was anyway.

19. Bills - Leonard Floyd.  Another pick somewhat out of left field.  What happened to the Bills defense?  They were so good the year before, but mediocre last year.  Went from tops in sacks to middle of the road if my memory serves me.  They could use a DE, but Rex Ryan is gonna work on that defense this year and a rush LB could go a long way.

20. Jets - Kendall Fuller.  They lost Cromartie and Revis is obviously getting up there in years.  Fuller seems more like a Jets pick than Apple or Alexander or any of the other [overrated] CB prospects in this range.

21. Redskins - Jarran Reed.  They need defensive players.  They build from the inside out.

22. Texans - Corey Coleman.  Their defense is good.  They need offensive players.  I still think Strong could turn into a very good WR, but Coleman's style is a better complement to Nuk's than Strong.

23. Vikings - Cody Whitehair.  This might be a bit early for an OG from this class, but the Vikings have to protect their young playmakers (and AP).  Jack Conklin is another potential pick here.

24. Bengals - Kevin Dodd.  Their defense seemed to underperform last year, and they don't have any particularly good DEs.  Dodd's a good fit and a great value here.

25. Steelers - Eli Apple.  The Steelers secondary was BAD last year.  Unfortunately the value isn't in the secondary by the time they're picking so I think they might have to reach for someone.  Karl Joseph is another strong candidate here, and I think in the right system he'll be a better player than Apple.  But the Steelers go with the status quo and think (hope) they get a good player in Apple.

26. Seahawks - Jack Conklin.  They need to protect their itty bitty QB before he breaks like the kid from Washington.  They also don't have Lynch to carry their offense any more, so their RBs are gonna need better OL than Lynch did to make the offense run.

27. Packers - Jaylon Smith.  As a team with a pretty solid roster, they can afford to wait and see if Smith can get back to 100%.  I think Smith is just too good to slide out of the first if there's a moderate chance he recovers.  (If you don't believe in Smith's chances, swap in Vernon Butler.  Raji quit, so they need a NT).

28. Chiefs - Will Fuller.  They need WRs.  Particularly someone who can stretch the field (even though their QB can't really throw it that far).  Solid value for Fuller at this spot.

29. Cardinals - William Jackson.  They don't have many needs, but they could use a CB opposite Peterson.  Value is about right for Jackson here.

30. Greatest Franchise in History - ???  You tell me.

Based on who is available, I think the obvious pick is Ogbah.  Doctson would also be a quality pick, and I'd be cool with Derrick Henry, Nkemdiche (doubt JR would sign off on this one though) or Bullard too.

i just love bullard, he kills 2 birds with one stone as a rotational DT/DE. if he can learn to pass rush he will be dirty.

I want Bullard, but I think it's going to be either Su'a Cravens or Derek Henry.

In the scenario where Butler is available, I think he would be the pick.  In the scenario where he isn't, I'd go with Bullard or Billings.

Even with picking at #30 there seem to be a lot of exciting players that could be available to us without trading up.

Bullard, Dodd, Vernon Butler, Hunter Henry, Corey Coleman, Sterling Shepard,

I've been looking at OTs, and while it might be a bit of a slight reach, I've gotten a bit interested in Le'Raven Clark. 

The way the positions seem to be distributed in the draft (some are "top heavy" others "bottom heavy", I think the best situation/values might be:

Round 1:  DE,  OT, or possibly DT - DEs & OTs are quite top-heavy.  There won't be many good ones likely around in later rounds.  (DTs there's much more depth & flexibility.)

Round 2:  S if a player we really like is there (Joseph or Cravens) but this is a particularly good round for OFFENSE:  TE, WR, RB, or Oline

Round 3:  CB or S (or possibly DE / DT depending on our pick in round 1), C could also be possible

Round 4:  WR, CB or RB have the most depth in this round

Round 5 / 7 whatever is left....

Hunter Henry

IMO, he's the best TE prospect in a loooong time, and BPA when we pick. There will still be plenty of quality DE's and DT's left at 62 if we don't trade up to grab a day 2 steal.
