Sock Sraft -Sax Man Draft

i keep thinking who is the guy this year that is becoming inevitable based on little comments and reports? KB had the instagram post and seemed like everyone knew he'd be available and was generally picked as our selection. i guess he had the missed workout but don't think that tied him to us.

shaq reported that we had a lot of interest in him and the whole thomas davis replacement thing was a huge marker for everyone mocking him to us.

this year su'a cravens is getting that same vibe, everyone keeps saying hunter henry and now derrick henry is getting some buzz but idk. i still think cravens has a slight lead on those guys for actually being available.

i think both hunter and derrick will be gone before our pick. some team is gonna do it. i think the only way we don't take cravens is if a top DE falls.

under gettleman our 1st round picks haven't really been surprises, they actually seem to have been pretty telegraphed. it's more interesting to hear the names of the other guys we liked if our guy hadn't been there. i think in the 2nd round and on our picks get more interesting.

Hunter keeps falling to us in the 2nd round in many mock drafts (i.e. at Fanspeak), but the more I look at how thin and bottom heavy the TE class is, the more I think that Hunter will be gone in the first or early second if a team really needs/wants a good TE.

Here's how the TEs grade / rank currently on NFL.com.  (the "projected round" comments are my own addition based solely on grade/rank - not taking into account Mock scenarios and teamneeds)

Only 4 TEs in the top 124 players.  Pretty thin pickins.

Henry still ranks in the 40s on some boards, however, so it's not totally impossible that he falls to us in round 2.

With Hunter Henry you kind of kill 2 birds with 1 stone, You improve your pass  & run blocking without drafting a OL and you gain viable threat on the offense. In addition you have insurance if Olsen gets hurt and a future replacement.

That depends on how G-Man and Rivera intend to employ him. Cravens is a hybrid player with the capability to play both Safety and Linebacker. While he's not the athlete that Shaq is overall, Cravens is a playmaker and he's always around the ball.

Well, we're an old school type of team fused with some unique modern day athleticism. After all, we still use a FB.

This is quite interesting. This might be the first time in awhile that a TE doesn't go in the first round. I knew it was a weak class but damn...

I believe the first TE taken last year was Maxx Williams @ pick 55

Great point. future Greg Olsen replacement.

However, Hunter might not be good enough to select at 30. Yes, he's far an away the best TE in this class (and prob last year's class) but that doesn't mean he good enough to draft in the 1st.

Hunter Henry is a 1st round prospect in my opinion.  MUCH more so than Cravens.  The top 3 TEs of this class are GOOD.  The rest are shitty.  I'd be good with Henry in the 1st or Hooper or Vannett in the 2nd.  Cravens, I'd be ok trading up a bit in the 2nd for him, but not a lot.  Maybe our 4th this year, or next year's 3rd.

31st is basically early 2nd round but I would mind getting Ogbha if we move up on 2nd for Henry.

Same I really like this draft

I just watched a video on NFL.com with cravens being interviewed, it seemed like he strongly preferred playing saftey and the move to linebacker wasn't something he really chose (seems like coaches suddenly told him to switch positions). He said he prefers playing Saftey.
