Mileage and age are two different things. No matter how little it was driven it's still been sitting in the NC sun for 17 years.

No wax?  Suspension shot at 140k?  Speakers?  I can kinda get the interior, at least the tops of the backseat, but man it sounds  like someone didn't take care of the car at all.

I have a Z71 Tahoe that I use as my beat around car that has 240k miles on it, and it has lived at the beach it's entire life, and it's 2 years older than your Honda, and it still looks and drives great.

Just wondering how it got that bad.

I know how the paint got that way and it's because honda paint blows.  My '06 acura TSX is flaking all over the place.

The springs are fine. I think the knuckles got bent due to hitting a pothole or entering a road off a steep drive. I have no memory of a serious hit but it cannot be aligned according to the dealer unless some work is done. The speakers were aftermarket that got played very loud for a very long time. The interior is just coming apart. Specifically the ceiling light. When you press the button the entire fixture kind of moves. Like it's come loose over time. The floor has a divot wear I pivoted my foot into the drivers seat for 17 years. It's not like all duct taped together. But its very worn inside.

i remember that thread

i was actually thinking about it the other day because my brother drove his 00 civic cross country to portland a few weeks ago

The seller lied to me and I ended up having to replace the engine. However, I'm glad because it's a pretty fast engine and far more fun to drive.
