Slap on the wrist at most.  Nothing too much.

That is possible but that NCAA is essentially saying we don't care anymore, do whatever. This is the biggest case of academic fraud we ever seen in college sports and it spans nearly 20 years. If that is the case, college sports really turns into the wild west.

If you're an alum of the university that actually had to go to class and earn your degree, how are you not pissed?

Good question, but I think most alums are not even Heel fans like that.

And they'll get away with it, it's one of the best higher education places in the USA, and their alums have too much money, and are high ranking officials in too many money making companies.  In essence, it is what it is.

And college sports is already the wild west, if you don't think so, you probably need to get a clue.

There is still a sheriff in town (NCAA), anything other than a stiff punishment is essentially saying sheriff has quit. Who knows when we will find out because they keep finding new evidence.

Officiating doesn't necessarily win or lose games but by god they sure as hell have major influence over some outcomes.

Since Nova shot 58.3% from the field, vs. 42.9 for UNC, I'd say complaining about the refs comes up a little empty. They did well to even have a chance at the end.

Thousands of email don't lie man. The issue now is to what extent the NCAA will punish them.

LOL I'm talking about the garbage nickname "cheater hill". also let's conveniently ignore the fact that the university as a whole is way bigger than a couple bad apples

I call it like I see it. Nearly 18 years of fraud and cover up takes a lot more than a few bad apples.

how many students went to UNC during those 23 years- a fug ton more than 1400 - UNC is bigger than this scandal but if it makes you feel better you can keep calling it like you see it

wait...are you saying that athlete's in DIV I schools get preferential treatment in their classes?  This is the first I've ever heard of this.  They all sound so well learned in their interviews.  I'm shocked.

the holier than thou attitudes are hilarious.  it's something that's gotten on my nerves since the "lol scam laptop paid more at auburn than in the nfl lmao" thing hit

i guarantee that every single person on this site cheers for "student athletes" who, at the absolute minimum, get a little "help" on the academic side or receive benefits that are either in a grey area or are outright banned.  this might be false if you're a fan of a DIII bible college or something so if anyone reading this is a big southeast arkansas fightin' woodchucks fan then this doesn't apply to you.

i was at app state during the three-peat/upset over michigan era and there was loads of that clearly going on, and this was a mere FCS power at the time.  those dudes were gods on that campus and i doubt kevin richardson, armanti edwards (or money as he was called in boone), dexter jackson, or many others wanted for a single thing their entire careers.  or maybe they paid for those loaded SUVs with custom paint, rims, and high end sound systems with what they made in work study, i could be wrong.

Not really a fair comparison since illegal boosters aren't in the same ballpark as academic fraud.

have you bothered to watch/listen to interviews with "student" athletes from DIV I football and basketball programs?  It's clear that most of them did not get into their respective institutions based on academic merit.  This is not an issue that is isolated to one or two universities.
