I noticed it says that he is an Free Agent. When did the Panthers announce they let him go? Did I miss something?

His contract only ran until the end of the season.  They just haven't re-signed him.

He came out of retirement to join our squad the second half of last year. It was his last shot at a ring. He done.

I agree. He did a great job filling in when Bene went down. He had the smarts/experience to jump right in so we didn't have to dumb down our coverage much. I never thought he would return for another season anyway.

For some reason, I was thinking a 50-50 chance that he'd return depending on G-man, money and Finnegan's belief that we'd make another run at a ring. As time goes by though...

I think he's the top of our emergency list if injuries occur during the season. That is, if he's willing to play some more.
