16mil a year is a bit unreasonable IMO.  But if he thinks thats what he is worth go for it.  

We were the second ranked defence in 2013 without his services for most of the season so if he leaves its not a back breaker tho i wish he would stay.

I don't think people are being bitter at all. I think it is the way he is going about it. When Greg Hardy handles a situation better than you then you are probably doing it wrong. Don't sit here and say how much you love Carolina and how you are building somethin special and then ask for more money then any other cornerback in NFL history. You want to make the most money then God Bless you. But don't insult is the fan base with the comments he's been making.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him slip some this upcoming season and be "only" worth 12 mil a year in next year's free agency.

At that kind of money we could afford 10 players.  I feel that was the main reason Cam took the contract he did.  You have to save a little for the other lesser folks,  Josh sat 3 years and played 1 and now he is better that all the rest.

Sherman's deal was less than $12 million per year average and he's younger and has played at an elite level for longer. 16 is just stupid, never gonna happen.

Paying any player at their highest point is never a good idea for any team at any position. And I don't quite honestly see how we could pay any Defensive player more than Luke. And I  don't care for any MLB  v CB salary issue on this either. Josh should try and get as much as can  so I dont fault him, its just business and he obviously knows this from everything he has said, he has never pooped on this franchise, he just knows now is his time to get paid. And im proud of the knowledge of this fanbase that they know 16 MM is too much and can walk away , no feelings hurt. Gman is teaching us all. Go Panthers 2016 and beyond.

I don't think he's worth 16 million a year, just for the record.

But I also wouldn't compare his situation to that of Tolbert either. You're grasping at straws with that one man.

CJ doesn't really work either because he's coming off two kind of lackluster seasons, that paired with his injuries, and age affected his market value.

In the end, we will in all likelihood have Norman for one more season, and I'm just gonna enjoy it. Unless he comes out talking poo about the Panthers or craps on the fans, I'm not gonna throw the guy under the bus just because he is trying to do what is best for himself.
