Carolina claimed Darius Butler off of waivers - he wasn't a signing. Point taken though.

Yeah.  Of course personally I would love if we signed Boykin.  I think when Butler came on the scene, we didn't have the kind of secondary support we have now.  I feel Boykin would thrive here at the nickel.

The big question is if he still has the mentality from Philly about wanting to play outside or is willing to assume a more full-time NB role.  If he's past that and willing to win with us, I can see us being the ideal fit for him.

Getty apparently doesn't quite share your complacency, as receiver is obviously a concern being how many we have had visits/workouts with for the past few weeks.

Everyone is counting on KB to come back and crush it, but he is coming back from a bad injury, as is Hill, and there is absolutely no guarantee that either will be good-as-new upon returning. Furthermore, they still have suspect hands until they prove otherwise. Unfortunately, dropped balls were  arguably one of the main reasons (if not the main reason) why we weren't dancing---Cam included---after the Super Bowl.

Upgrading a litttle to get over that hump is a reasonable expectation.

I wish more people understood this. Every one of our receivers have drop issues. It would be nice to add one that doesn't.

This isn't the 1970s an ACL isn't that big of a deal....

Von Miller, TD, Tim Brady, Joe Thomas, Jamal Charles, Chris Harris geno Atkins, rob gronkowski... Anyways you get the point it's not a debilitating injury anymore.

Regardless, it takes time to fully recover---not only  physically, but mentally as well. People are assuming that it will only take a year to get back, but it could easily be a year and a half for an athlete to get back right, and perhaps even longer to consistently play at an optimal level. It's a process that takes time, and, still, at the end of the day everyone doesn't respond to treatment the same way or within the same timeframe. As such, it behooves a GM to take that into account, in addition to all of the regular aspects of team building and management.
