What in the world has Pogba done to deserve such a title? He's the most overrated player in the world outside Messi. Pogba shrinks in the biggest moments (World Cup; Champion's League). No thanks. I rather we buy a back up Leftback and a back up Forward/Striker. 80-90m is too much for a guy who is a flash in the pan.

I'm fine with Casemiro, Isco, James, Modric, Kovacic, and Kroos at midfield.

He just turned f*cking 23 like 2 months ago. He has an average UCL match rating of over 7.6 and average match rating in the league over 7.8. He was fantastic against Bayern in the away leg, scoring once and creating 4 clear cut chances.

He's a holding midfielder, so obviously his stats aren't gaudy. He was a huge reason Juve's midfield was able to continue without Pirlo. He already produces more than Kroos and he's 3 years younger and plays in a more difficult league in which to score. He would absolutely wreck the defensive joke that is La Liga.

Pogba could very well switch this summer for roughly £65m. By the time he is 26, barring injury, I can almost guarantee his fee will be £100m. He has Ballon d'Or written all over him.

EDIT: Also noticed you talked about him shrinking in the World Cup. lol he was named Best Young Player in the 2014 World Cup.

Messi won the best player award in the World Cup too. Your edit adds absolutely nothing.

It's not about statistics, it's about the eyeball test, and he doesn't pass it with me. Why would Madrid need him when Isco is 10x the dribbler he is in condense windows? When Kroos is the superior passer by a significant margin? When James can cross and score with the best of Europe? When Modric is top creator and distributor? When Casemiro provides a cheap but above average defensive presence?

Funny, your EPL products keep flopping in La Liga. I wonder why. Oh, that's right. No technique. Pogba could be easily bully his way through our midfield but that doesn't mean he wouldn't get stripped each time though. Bale learned that the hard way. Luckily, he stop depending on his pace and physicality finally.

He scored the go-ahead goal to send France through to the round of 8 in the World Cup at the age of 21. Ronaldo bowed out of the group stages in what people consider his prime. I'd think long and hard about your definition of "shrinking in big moments" and go re-watch your god fiddle-fug about the pitch for 120 minutes in the UCL final.

Pogba doesn't play Isco's position and he doesn't play James' position....why not throw your fuging keeper into that ridiculous argument? Modric is already 30 and nearer the end of his career than his prime. Casemiro couldn't clean Pogba's boots.

I love it when people can't formulate any sort of argument so they result to "eyeball test" as a legitimate reason. Sure, there is some semblance of eyeball test involved, but Pogba passes it to anyone who isn't too busy trying to be a hipster thinking Messi is overrated.

Yea those EPL products that flopped in La Liga... Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, Alonso...can't believe how bad they all were.

you do realize Bale and Modric played for Spurs, right? And you could easily point out examples of La Liga products failing miserably in the EPL (Soldado, Di Maria, Navas)

Ronaldo "was" great.  Pogba is an awesome holding midfielder.  If you argue otherwise, you are crazy.  Also,. Ask anyone who was better over the last 10 years... Messi is known as a magician for a reason.  He's amazing.

I don't think Real Madrid can afford anyone right now so they will likely stay put or even try to sell some players.

LOL, Ronaldo is the king of Champion's League. Please, don't you dare. He holds numerous records for the UCL, but go ahead. Cristiano was injured prior to the game. However, don't let that get in your way Ronaldo-hate.

Pogba was nonexistent against Barca in the UCL Final and during most of the World Cup. I've seen enough to proclaim him overrated.

Uhhhhh, that's why we bought Kovacic. He's the Modric heir apparent. My point is why do we need Pogba when our midfield is already stacked and a well-oiled machine? Pogba brings nothing that we already don't have and then some.

Wow, Ronaldo... that was 6-7 years ago. Good one. Alonso? Thank you... a decade later. Nope, all I gotta do is remind you how much La Liga teams like Sevilla and Valencia have owned EPL teams in European tournaments.

No one is saying Ronaldo is bad. But his performance in the UCL final is THE definition of disappearing in a match. Pogba didn't come anywhere close to playing that poorly. And even if he did, find me an early 20s player in the world that isn't inconsistent.

Your opinion that Pogba disappeared for most of the World Cup is completely and utterly unfounded. In fact, it's just completely made up on your part. He was the best player on the pitch for multiple matches and he was f*cking 21. Sorry a 21 year-old doesn't carry an underachieving France side to a World Cup final.

Kovacic is a talent, but he's not a natural-born regista. He's been converted. Not saying he can't have a future there, but there is still some question as to whether or not he is RM quality. Real Madrid haven't won La Liga since 2011/12, and while they have had tremendous European success over the last 3 years, questions are starting to be asked and they need to find a way over that hump. Clearly what they have isn't quite doing that. Zidane is a huge admirer of Pogba and has said that Pogba reminds him of himself and any team in Europe would be lucky to have him.

Neither La Liga or Prem football has changed much in the last decade. Finesse vs. Strength, yet I provided examples of severaly players who have become the upper-echelon of La Liga. Suarez has ruined your league since joining it. It's not a surprise. Almost every talented player sees their production increase from Prem to La Liga. Your big 3 are better than Prem, but our top to bottom is more challenging when it comes to scoring goals.

I can't believe you guys are even entertaining him tbh. He called the best player in the world (and probably the history of the game) overrated. Again.....moronic.

Yea, I don't really know why I bothered honestly. Got caught up.

Happens to the best of us. Back on topic...it sounds like RM have pretty much zeroed in on Pogba as their far and away #1 target. Also saw two Santos names mentioned as players they like, Lucas Lima and Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa. I would prefer Gabriel of the two, as he's much younger and is on a similar career trajectory as Neymar. I think it's too early for him to move to a huge club like Madrid or Barcelona (the only clubs he's said he would move for) though.

Yea, I saw the reports that came out yesterday saying Zidane was asking RM to sanction a 100m Euro move for Pogba. Already been in touch with his reps and offering him close to 10m euros/year. Juve have reportedly sounded out Pjanic as his replacement.

Gabigol might need a stepping stone move before he heads to RM, but he is a talent for sure.

There's a couple of papers reporting that they sent a 120m Euro bid to Juventus yesterday. If that's true, I'm not sure Juve can afford to say no.

I feel the same way about Gabigol. He's a guy I would be interested in, but not for 2016-17. Probably would be loaned out if they do sign him. I wouldn't hate the signing though. Maybe sign and loan back to Santos for two years with Madrid paying the majority of the salary.

Yea, Gabigol is a sign-and-loan if you want him now. I could see them loaning back to Santos, but it might make sense to try to loan him within La Liga to get acclimated.
