Both you guys are lame. Enjoy debating the importance of your new strong safety.  There are more interesting personnel discussions.

Keep on building that "You guys think that Gettleman is brilliant because he signed Trenton Robinson" strawman!

IMO, when it comes to strawmen, the bigger the better!

If the shoe fits, wear it.   The Huddle is not an ant colony, and everyone doesn't think the same way. To me it really doesn't make sense to respond to a post that doesn't even apply to you. Like I said earlier, time will tell what Robinson is all about. It is hardly worth arguing over in my opinion, much less taking the energy to develop a so-called strawman argument over. But, to each his own.

Six pages for this signing?! I kno Gettleman is a "G" but your only setting yourself up for disappointment by thinking everything he shits is gold....

just speaks to how little we've done in free agency that this scrub who will struggle just to make the roster is one of our notable signings

After reviewing the Panthers' website team roster, we actually have quite a few Safeties now= Coleman, Boston, Robinson, Ras-I Dowling is listed as Safety, Dean Marlowe, Marcus Ball, and Colin Jones.

I wonder what we think of Dowling. Also, it'll be interesting to see if Marlowe makes a leap this offseason. He was hyped as a UDFA and was on the 53 this past year. He also lives with Shaq, which can only mean good things for preparation and work ethic. Supposedly he is a nasty hitter too.

I also wonder if we draft one and add another in FA.

Like others have said, I can see Robinson being tried out as a nickel too.

We will see.

I keep up with the NFL more than most, and that's exactly why I said in so many words when we signed Coleman that he might just be better than most expected. This guy? I don't expect him to follow a similar trek, but who knows? I still say it's way too premature to crown this guy as the epitome of G-man's alchemy.

Coleman is 5' 11'' and 200lbs. Robinson is 5' 9'' and 190. Not a whole lot of difference. As a Michigan State man I can tell you. Robinson may surprise many a fan. Also, he will be coming into his 3rd year. Gman has to love that. It is usually the time kids start to get it. So he fits in well with all the other kids we have on the roster.

But yeah. At this point in time. It looks like a depth and ST signing. With the opportunity to impress thrown in.

I wonder if DG sees him as a slot CB?

To be honest, that was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard. He has the tools to play the slot, as well as S. He just needs the right environment. He is coachable, smart, and athletic. Hope he impresses when he gets his chances.

All that really matters in the grand scheme of things. Is that I get an MSU kid on the team. Yeah me.
