You know, I could probably see it, if we would have gotten worse. Then you have something tangible to blame on letting him go. But since we have improved, it seems to me it isn't that big of a deal. We cut a vet, although popular, and got better. Hard to argue that point.

Unless of course, you would rather see individual success, over team success. In that case. Flame away.

One could also say that the turning point in our most recent success was solidifying the O-line. Norwell, Kalil, Turner, and Remmers  Or to be a little more specific. Since the emergence of Remmers. We are what? 22-3 or some sort. Once our Offense started clicking. We were off and running. So to speak.

No bearing on the Smitty dealio. Just showing that we were very successful with him.

Why would you not include Oher?  Oher vs. Bell was probably the single biggest step up in production we got out of any position from 2014 to 2015.

I'd say zero chance on Harvin. Too much of a head case.

His history has been that every team he's been part of has ended up deciding he's more trouble than he's worth.

hopefully not colston either. we need someone with more reliable hands.

The main reason I left Oher off, is because he wasn't around at that time. But yeah. We got better with Bell on the line. That is the impact adding Remmers had. Well, that and finally getting Norwell on the field as well.

Oh gotcha.  Yeah I didn't realize you were talking specifically about the turnaround after our 1-8-1 stretch two years ago.

Granted, it is a little easy to pin point our turnaround with the insertion of Remmers into the starting lineup. But coniky dinky or not. That is just how it played out.  So maybe Remmers deserves more credit than he get. I mean. The record speaks for itself. We have been darn near unbeatable since Remmers took over at RT. Pay the man. lol

As @SCPpointed out in a different thread, this is the first time I've seen the masses not flip out over this.  In years past, the Huddle would have imploded when Weddle signed with the Ravens.

Weddle doesn't look good in nipple shorts...everyone here knows that.

Gettleman has been patient (as always), and it will pay off.  Just off the top of my head, there are still quality veteran guys that will now come here on the cheap.......

RB - Alfred Morris, Stevan Ridley (really hope we can sign Morris on the cheap - great fit)

CB - Brandon Boykin, Patrick Robinson (both are ideal for the slot)

WR - Anquan Boldin, Percy Harvin, Marques Colston (fill the veteran void by Cotchery)

Safety is a little thin, but I think DG addresses that still in the draft and also veterans that are cut.  I also believe they want to see if Boston/Marlowe are ready for primetime too.  It's not like Harper was an All-Pro back there.  As long as they solidify the DE and add another solid CB, Coleman will make up for the weakness at SS.

#GettleMagic

I'd be ecstatic if we landed Boykins, Morris and Boldin/Colston

Hey AAANNNYYYYYY day now right?

Yeah, the negatives def outweigh the positives which is a shame because he is an ideal fit in our system that could explode in the slot with a QB like Cam.  Harvin's history of QBs include Tyrod Taylor, Geno Smith, & Christian Ponder.  When he had a competent QB like Russell and Favre, he was a beast.

It's such a shame when character & brains tarnish talent like that.  And agreed, he can't stay healthy either.

Morris just signed to the Cowboys, 2 years 3.5 million.

Makes me think Stewie will get the same thing that CJ got this year. He'll be the last of Hurney's insane contracts on our books for next year. We know what happened to CJ's contract this month, and Kalil's contract is set to be voided next year like Harper and Cotchery's this year. Stewie will count $9.5 million in 2016 and $8.25 million in 2017 against the cap. If a top RB falls to us at #30, don't be shocked if we draft him to replace Stewie's contract

    • We can't afford to reach for one of the first round QBs this year. I would love for nothing more than Bryce to be the reason we don't even scout the bastards
