Do you think we are a jr peer to some of the most well run franchises at this point?  Green Bay, Pittsburgh and the patriots come to my mind.

Definitely heading that way.

Bup bup bup, bitches.

Yea I'd like Boldwin, a Vet CB, and a Vet SS and we are pretty golden.

It would probably be a good idea to look at a TE in FA or the draft as well...we are probably taking Olsen for granted....god forbid something something not saying it but you know what I mean.

As @SCPpointed out in a different thread, this is the first time I've seen the masses not flip out over this.  In years past, the Huddle would have imploded when Weddle signed with the Ravens.

People are finally learning that picking up a guy because of his name and because he had a decent season back when British knights were a thing isn't always the best move. See Greg Jennings; and Hakeem Nicks for like 3 offseasons or something.

This is expected and was mentioned by some at the start of the off season. When you are not respected by players and their agents in negotiations and treat them disrespectfully it gets around quickly. You should expect to be used as leverage and lose players you are interested in even if your offer is equal to or slightly better than another team.

If you ever get the chance, ask an agent of Gettleman's reputation in negotiations.

I expect to lose out on just about every quality free agent that negotiates with Gettleman. The only hope I have of signing one of them is if they have a bond with a player on the team and that player lobbies them.

I do expect to load up on the used up veteran players trying to get 1 or 2 more years of cash flow.

You think free agents aren't coming to carolina because Dave Gettleman is disrespectful during negotiations? That's insane.

Wait....so this whole time it hasn't been GMan being selective and not overspending on guys with big names that don't/won't back up their big contracts with their play, but it's been the players not wanting to come here because GMan is a jerk?

Thats so interesting.

he's the little engine that could.  he'll get his crazy ideas obliterated in one thread and then just materialize in another posting the exact same stuff acting like it never happened.  can't knock him for lack of persistence i guess.

it's especially bizarre when you consider what happened with charles johnson turning down millions to come back and play for the panthers.  and how cam and luke's contract extensions weren't contentious at all.  or greg olsen's.

I'd say "The Little Engine That Just Doesn't Get It" would be more appropriate.
