It's Been a Slow Free Agency For Us...Or Has It?

this was a revealing nugget though

Let me understand your logic Norv Turner had one of style of offense in SD so he had to run that same style of offense in Minnesota cause you said so LOL, spoken like someone whose never watched another team play, do you even have the Sunday ticket?

yeah actually that's almost always how it works.  an offensive coordinator comes from a particular coaching tree and tends to buy into that system.  and anyway norv turner is universally known as an air coryell guy on pretty much the same level of andy reid as a walsh disciple and west coast offense guy.

Kid, we both know that you wouldn't know a Coryell from a WCO from an Erhardt-Perkins from a whatever, so let's just drop that whole facade, shall we?

But more than that, this statement...

...is sheer and utter stupidity.

If how a team runs free agency really matters more to you than whether or not they win a Super Bowl, You're absolutely too much of a moron to even talk to.

Me? I'm gonna sit back and enjoy watching my team be a perennial contender while you sit in the corner and pout over then not signing the guys you want.  That's a pretty pathetic niche you're carving out for yourself, but hey, your life.

Says the guy who thinks Minnesota has the same offense as the panthers, a guy who hasn't watched a Vikings game in his life.

That stupidity is your logic, your were more happy with winning 17 games than us winning the SB.

SB winning teams have all been active in trades and FA, but you want to go against the grain and win the way YOUR happy with, which hasn't worked for us in 25+ years.

Loser mentality

Little fella, I've not only watched Viking games; I've watched games played by the last five teams coached by Norv Turner. And yes, I can name those teams without looking them up. You on the other hand probably have to go look up who Norv Turner is.

Everybody except one or two complete idiots on this board knows that this team is heading in the right direction.

Like I said, Gettleman is here to stay, so you can look forward to pouting like a baby again next year or take my advice and find a different team.

I thought there were some good nickel cb out there, not sold on Boston but he can't be worst then Harper. Wr depth is fine if our meat of the core stays healthy, still a vet like boldin to take cotchery's place would be dope, met Ryan Delaire while visiting NC this past weekend, cool guy, says he has more to come and he's just getting started, gonna be some great competition come camp. Honestly there wasn't one guy in FA that would put us over the top, Wasn't any RT worth throwing cash at and top a tier wr would take snaps from Kelvin and funchess. If cj didn't come back I'm pretty sure we would have brought some de's in. Draft will determine whether we have another shot at a Super Bowl or just another playoff team

I've games played??????

I'm pretty sure you haven't since Turner pretty much changed his whole offense to fit Teddy and AP, but of course you won't know that your stuck in your own little bubble

Sorry yesboy I don't bow down to the Fuhrer like you, I give most of my credit to the guys on the field

Eh not really, coaches adapt to the players they draft or sign. last season Norv called more running plays than he has in the last 8 or so years, he called the least amount of vertical pass plays since before he was in SD

Norv isn't dumb enough to run the same system in SD with Teddy and the Vikings

The Dumb is strong in this one.

I find it hilarious that should we win the Super Bowl this year, while the rest of us are celebrating, he'll be sitting at home crying because we did it without Mike Wallace and wishing Dave Gettleman would somehow get fired anyway.

Like I said, it's a pretty pathetic niche he's carved out for himself. He's basically that 4 year old kid who cried his eyes out about hating Luke Kuechly when Steve Smith was let go, only in a 13 to 15 year old body.

I was waiting on something like this...

Do you "give most of the" blame to the players on the field for the Super Bowl poo show?

You do know that Norv has always preferred a power running game to go along with the downfield passes right?

He had a couple backs under him named Emmitt Smith, and Ladanian Tomlinson...

Norv is still running the Coryell system, you are so bad at this.

I've already said the receivers were the main reason we lost the SB, so yes I give them the most blame

But when we don't want to improve arguably the worst receiving core in the nfl for the sake of being cheap I'm gonna say something. You can be a coward all you want I really don't give a fug, this whole we can't question the front office is the most gutless sht I've ever heard.

Norv isn't an nimrod like you or the other mouth breather hes willing to change his philosphy based on personnel.

Once Norv took over the Chargers LTs carries went WAY down, he got rid of Micheal Turner and used Sproles instead, so this whole he loves the power running it's a load of crock. He got rid of a the Lorenzo Neal or any real FB to use Tolbert instead.

Like ive already stated he didn't run a vertical pass game in Minnesota, if you want you can review the tape.

but if it helps you sleep at night

Lemme acquaint you with the extreme depth of stupidity that you're dealing with here, Fuzzy.

Numbskull has already stated that even if we win a Super Bowl, he'll still be upset about it if we do so without signing guys he wants.

A football fan being unhappy about his team winning the Super Bowl... Can't get much dumber than that.

I suppose it's possible that at some point in the long history of this board there may have been more ignorant statements made, but I've been here since the beginning and I can't think of one (which is pretty crazy when you consider that we've had Falcon fans on here).

Re-read the part of my comment where I note that this is the first time the team has had a competent drafter who can actually execute the strategy. And your point about being frugal has a lot to do with our internal stars such as Short, Star, Turner, and others who will require significant cap space in the near future.

When was the last time Carolina had so many homegrown stars? The signings will come when the value is there.

So, let's take a look at what Gman has coming down the pike.

Next year: KK. If he has a good year? How much is he going to cost? 10+mil for sure. Stah's 5th year tender is going to cost over 8mil. I think. So he has almost 18mil next year just in those 2. We are at about 18mil right now.

Then the year after he has Shaq and Trai. With maybe Norwell, Remmers, Williams, Bene', and Boston. He is going to need a good chunk of change to deal with all these guys.

Then there is KB. How much is he going to merit? And Fun FUn? Or guys like Brown, McClain, and Mayo?

We have a poo ton of kids whose 2nd contracts are coming up. Things are going to get real fun up in here. Cuz there ain't no way Gman can keep everybody. We are going to start losing some of our talent in the coming years. The drawback of how Gman operates is the fact we have more talent than money.

Big name FA are just not in our budget. Sooo sorry Gooby
