I don't keep cats in the house for this very reason.  Cats can be fuging vicious for no reason it seems lol.  I kept one cat in the house and said never again.  Besides cats are animals, I'm sure they'd rather be outside.  As long as you didn't declaw it first, that would be a death sentence.

My house has become the place to go for people no longer wanting animals. On any given day I have between 4-6 barn cats, plus the two inside cats, and two dogs. The barn cats have never come close to biting me in anyway they mostly hang out with the horses because they keep mice out of their hay and the horses protect them from the coyotes.  You didn't mention if the cat was spayed, neutered, or both. Have you taken it to a vet to see if something is wrong with it? Is there someone in the house antagonizing it?

You can always take it to Animal shelter and pay a surrendering fee.  They will give cat 3 months to find a new home and if cat is too aggressive and no takers, they will put it asleep.

I helped put aggressive dog asleep and it's very fast and peaceful process.
