I feel like there's somewhat of a misconception as to what type of RB would fit our system. A lot of people point to the speedy, almost scat-like, backs who can catch out of the backfield and get outside. In reality, we are a smash-mouth team. We pound the ball down the opposing team's throat. We overwhelm them we how physical we play. Henry is that type of back. He will punish people. Much like we already try to do.

He's the exact type of back we like on paper. What gives me and some others pause is scheme fit. How good is he taking handoffs from Shotgun and Read option? That's the majority of our run plays.

I don't want to see a repeat Deangelo, good in I formation, but looks lost and hesitant in the gun.

Cam 6'5"

Seems pretty overwhelming for opposing defenses.

Its due dillegence, He could be BPA but I rather have RB in the mold of J-Stew. The only question is his pad leverage, LBs in the NFL are stronger , faster, & have better tackling techniques. BTW the interior of this OL is elite and he will have far better Running gaps. I would rather draft a DE , CB, or TE but we will find out during draft days.

My choice for next year is Royce Freeman from Orgeon who has similar build & playing style  to J-stew.

2015 – The second-team All-American (Football Writers Association of America) and Pac-12 Conference rushing runner-up (141.2 avg.) broke LaMichael James' single-season school rushing record with 1,836 yards, posting the Ducks' highest per-game average since James' 150.4 yards in 2011 . . . Ranked fourth in the country in rushing in addition to becoming the only FBS player nationally to accumulate more than 100 yards from scrimmage in every game . . . The first-team all-league standout eclipsed school standards by rushing for 100 yards or more in nine consecutive games to finish the season over the century mark 11 times in 13 games . . . Led the league in total touchdowns scored (19) and rushing TDs (17) while tying for 10th in the latter category . . . Voted the Ducks' Most Outstanding Offensive Player by his teammates, he ran for a collegiate-best 246 yards (9.1-yard avg.) and two touchdowns in a setback against Washington State - the top rushing effort in the Pac-12 this year . . .

Flashback: http://blackandbluereview.com/panthers-melvin-gordon-nfl-draft/

I'm not so interested in taking a RB with our first or second pick. But I do believe in DG. He'll take the BPA. Whoever that is will be a contributor. I'm excited to see who we get.

If Gman can grab 2, or maybe even 3 of his draft picks who can contribute this year. We will be better. And coming off a SuberB owl? I can live with that.

Maybe, but the question you should be asking is, how much longer will that be the case?

Not only that, but the value for the $.  Good GM's pay for what they're going to get, not for what's already been done.
