Reminds me of when a co-worker made me come to a presentation for a multilevel marketing company she had joined. During the presentation they kept talking about how it wasn't a pyramid scheme. Then they put up a poster showing the sales/earning structure... and it was in the shape of a pyramid.

She never made enough money to quit her job either.

A friend of my wife's tried to sell her on this crap.   I convinced my wife it was a ripoff, took 6 months though for her friend to get the idea.

My sister was involved in one of these companies years ago. It was called Enrich and they sold a weight loss supplement called power trim which contained mau haung and ephreda before one of the supplements was taken off of the market.

She got in early and at the right time and was cashing 20k a month checks for over 2 years. All of the people that got in late didn't make squat.

When I was in property management, one of my residents took me to dinner to talk business. 

I knew it was either gonna be a pyramid scheme or I was gonna get date raped. I live life on the wild side and went to dinner for the absurdity of it all. 

When we were at the bar, the dude said, "drinks are on me. It's great being your own boss. I can write this off." He then paid for the beers with a visa gift card. 

I listened to his terrible presentation and feigned interest as much as I could. When his gift card was declined, I paid for the drinks and dinner and laughed so hard on the inside. 

He was trying to recruit me into selling an amazing pen that fugs with your center of gravity and some stupid poo. 

10/10 I would do it again.
