Nfl is becoming a soap opra it seems.

Checks and balances. No 1-person should have that type of power, it should be a governing-body or a watch-dog commitee that not only safe-guards the fines, but makes sure that the officiatials are kept on a tight Leah as well.

i know there's an officiating review committee, but I don't see any officials being reprimanded in any sort of way.

Depends on what they replace it with.  The suggestions I have heard so far seem to involve bringing in a neutral party.  That does sound promising.  Another option could be a group of former players and owner representatives.
