Coples probably projects better as a 3-tech, so this wouldn't really affect him. Though him now visiting other teams doesn't really bode well.

He would play his part. He'd presumably be Dwan's replacement. Moreover, I know that he is advancing in age and Short is a lot younger, but the same was said of Short and we worked him into shape.

The link from ESPN that was not provided in OP says that David Newton claims the Panthers have interest, but no visits or anything are actually scheduled. Which means Newton is just throwing crap at the wall. 

So next time we are all bitching about these "reporters" (I use the term very loosely) not having any insider knowledge or facts, just remember how we take their poo and run with it, which is exactly why they "report" the way they do.

Soliai or Raji would not be brought in to replace Dwan Edwards, they'd be filling the void left by Kyle Love. I think we'll be drafting another DT pass rusher at some point.

Why are some people saying we need 1 pass rushing DT and 1 run stuffing DT as backups? Edwards and Love weren't fuging pass rushers.
